Race Team Experience
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know of any motorsport teams that would be willing to take on a recent graduate for work experience? I have just finished a degree in mechanical engineering at Edinburgh University and have been offered a place on the Motorsport Engineering MSc course at Cranfield University which starts in October. If anyone one knows of a team manager/contact that would be interested in taking on a resourceful, dedicated engineer to help out on their team over the summer, could you please let me know. Thanks for your help! |

I don't know where you are based but you could always try contacting ComtecRenault aka Jonathan Lewis who is a member on this site and runs in F Renault.
Good luck |

You can willingly come and help us out in the Kumho BMW championship if you want, might have to pay you in beer though!

if you in chesshire then all the guys in NWFF1600 on the club single seaters forum should be offering.
Most people in National and CLub level cannot afford to pay for an unknown quantity so if you can afford to you need to offer your services for free. Word of mouth from anyone you worked for will always do the trick. |

I'm more than willing to offer my service for free, the problem is I currently have no experience in motorsport so it's very difficult to get my foot in the door, so to speak.

I think that Manor motorsport are based in the NW and yes Comtec do have a website - a quick google search will find it for you.
A quick word of advice motorsport is a hard business to suceed in and it welcomes self starters. So if I were you i would start doing my research and contact the relevant teams, or else attend a meeting with a CV and speak to people. Nothing will happen unless you make it happen. |
