Onofre Marimon on Ferrari (!) Where, when & with whom?

Hi all,

new to this forum so please forgive me if this is in the wrong section...

I just acquired a vintage 1953 photo of Argentinian driver Onofre Marimon posing with a Ferrari.

I believe the car is a 1949 Ferrari 166 Formula Libre and that Marimon was a good friend of both Fangio and Gonzales.

Gonzales raced a similar car (or was it this one?) in Formula Libre in the 1951 / 1952 / 1953 seasons.

Is this indeed the Gonzales car?

There a small differences between the 166 F2 and the FL version and the car in this picture looks a lot like the Gonzales FL car to me.

Where was this picture taken?

An almost similar picture of Marimon in a Ferrari 166 F2 can be found in Karl Ludvigsen's book "Ferrari by Mailander". A copy of that photo can be found on Veloce Today at http://www.velocetoday.com/lifestyle/lifestyle_54.php but it is a different car (F2 vs. FL) and it looks to be a different venue. The Mailander photo was taken at the Modena Airport in 1950/51 according to Veloce Today.

I bought the phot from a gentleman in Argentina and the Formula Libre races were concentrated in South America during those years so it would make sense that it is indeed Ferrari 166 S/N 011F.

Who are the other two people in the picture?

Anybody who can shed some light on this?

Can you say what is written on the photo? And translate it. This might help jolt someone's memory.
To my untrained eye, the numbers look too 'artistic' to be in Europe which tends to confirm it is in Argentina.
