brands hatch should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Britcar 'into the night' Brands Hatch 7th november

Ok, only 3 more race events, the Trucks, Britcar and the Lotus endurance saturday, left at brands this year

So who will be heading to the Britcar into the night race?

Issue One of the Timetable is here: http://www.ma5daracing.com/eventguid...-timetable.pdf

For endurance racing fans there is plenty of it here...with a 90 minute Britcar production race mid afternoon and then the 90 Minute Britcar GT event in the evening.

On the bill is the Britsports Masters winter series for all caterhams, Ma5da MX5 winter trophy, Britcar production and Britcar GT.

I'll be there, as ever I get a buzz out of my home circuit having racing in the dark. Makes a special way to end the season.

However, and it's a big however - what are the numbers like for Britcar various flavours nowadays?

"only" 23 started last year, cpuld do with more.

I'm booked to attend and it sounds fun but (a dumb question) how will drivers see the flags? Generators and lamps at the posts? Will we need to bring a little torch and shine it?

Or maybe I just didn't notice the track lighting last week.

Yes, I to enjoy it, I think it makes a great spectacle and it's a bit different.

Britcar GT's:

29 at Silverstone international
26 Spa
20 castle combe
20 at Snetterton

so we can probably expect about the same as last year

aha...the joys of night racing

Previously, we have used yellow lights on sticks powered by car batteries - property of BRSCC, as used effectively for many 24hr since the dawn of time.

SC boards we illuminate with a torch(supplied)

Flouro tabards also supplied.

Of course a good marshal will bring at least 2 personal torches and will attend the morning's briefing to find out how it'll all be done this year. Cos it might change.

Brands - thanks for those numbers - so, 20ish then.

Im looking forward to running about with my headtorch
Hoping this mild weather might last a while too, it can be pretty grim after dark
Want to get my upgrade assessment done at either this meeting or the Lotus day, I'm sure both will keep us busy

I am going to hijack this thread now. Come to Snett on the 14th November. We also have a night race on for the Fun Cup cars. Friday the 13th is there night practice then on Saturday is a couple of sessions and then the day into and in the dark. So you could get a fix of 2 night event s to top off the season.
Contact BRSCC East Anglia for this meeting. Apparantly a good grid is expected for them.
Back to the normal thread now.

Ahh - yellows! And it's all explained in Mildred's email received last night.

No black flags then ... Or shall I bring a torch with no batteries for that?

Lots of entries and other downloads on EERC website now. The Britcar GT entry list is really quite exceptional, both in terms of number of cars, quality of cars, and drivers/combinations of drivers. However.... it IS an EERC entry list after all.... we`ve all been here time and time again, and invariably we all end up disappointed by the numbers of scratches. It`s a shame that I can`t get excited about the list, cos it is indeed worth getting excited about, but I just have no faith in it whatsoever!!!

(Just to add to the pessimism, I bet scratches include numbers 12, 16, 26, 37 and 99, at least!!).

Your right the entry list for the GT's is good...
i hope the Aquilla CR1 turns up, and the NSX.
The serverware BMW of the Seldon's has been a bit potent this year (pulled out of the GT cup race in May and the GT cup race at the Vee festival)....
...But overall the list is a lot better than i expected

I was just thinking...isn't 32 the Max number of starters?...and there are 34 confirmed entries on the website (35 including the TBA's)...so surely they are already anticipating some dropouts??

Ah, here we go then!! One of the "biggies" scratched already in the form of the Rollcentre Mosler!

Nice to get some "inside" confirmation of one of the more interesting entries though (37).

Seeing as there are some people who know their stuff lurking on here..... Any of you guys know the schedule for Fridays test?? I see MSV are only selling a single groups session of tracktime for Friday. I take it EERC have bought the rest of the day? When are you GT guys out (presuming you are testing at all that is) - I will be popping up as live locally and its always nice to know the timetable in advance.

it is,
but if you look here (supplementary regs) - http://msvracing.com/media/76301/sr%20issue%20two.pdf it says 36!!

We all know that they can only start 32 saloon and sports cars, 28 single seaters and sports racing under 2000cc and 26 single seaters and sports racing over 2000cc though...

Waiting for MSVR to put there entry list up (will it materialize!) as they tend to put it up late on Friday before the event, as i expect it may be a bit more reliable than the eerc one....

You can qualify 20% more starters and any that don't fit on the grid will sit as reserves - there are often enough drop outs....and as said, usually the EERC entry lists don't entirely match what turns up on the day.
