Britcar 'Into the Night Race' - Sat 24 Nov 2012 - Brands Hatch

To avoid any (further) confusion as to which thread with the words "Britcar" and "Night" in the title refers to the Brands Hatch event.....

see folks there

To add to the confusion curfew is still 18.30 so it is "into the evening!"
Good race last year and I'm looking forward to it this year.

I think they try to keep it simple - it goes past "dark o'clock" so that must make it night

It's surprising how quickly winter draws in, by half six it will have been dark for a couple of hours. Far enough into the night without eating in to my drinking time.
Should be a good one.

Last of the year...

I'll be there for my final outing of the year, last years was a great day so looking forward to it, Smarts vs Paddock hill bend is quite a sight to be seen. See you all there.

See if you need more than two hands to count the Smart entries. There were only 7 at Donington; despite being a tiny grid they managed to give some reasonable entertainment in the wet.

In case I miss him, can anyone driving up the hill from the Texaco garage, or past Farningham Station, at sign on time, look out for a young lad who'll appreciate a lift. He doesn't have Proban's yet so won't be in orange but will probably be in the typical 'uniform' of hoodie and jeans!
He's slim, about 5' tall, black hair (under the hoodie) and answers to the name of Stav.
Thanks. (On his behalf.)

I'll be there, first time out in a while after scrapping a few days in the name of studying. Going to be a bit of a shock to the system but looking forward to it.

Jamie

I think MSVR put entries on their website on the Friday http://www.msvracing.co.uk/cars/calendar.aspx but you could try later today

there is a thread for this meeting already which may have some info or links in http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...=135445&page=2

and some discussion here as well again may have some info or links http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...=131553&page=5

or try http://britcar24hr.co.uk/cms/e107_pl...hp?content.102

search is such a useful function

see folks at the weekend

I'll merge this into the existing thread as I did the last thread that you started on the subject James. Please do look to see if there are existing threads rather than just starting your own thread about a race meeting. You can post on other people's threads and not just your own

Hi everyone!

Anyone is going by car from London and has a spot avaliable? If yes, I'm more than interested iterested, and of course I would share the costs. Access via public transport is such a nightmare.

MSVR site has the entries now.

http://www.msvracing.co.uk/media/151..._24_nov_bh.pdf

As is common with Britcar, hope springs eternal, but reality is another dimension.

5 confirmed / 4 TBA for the Open GT & Sports.

Thank goodness for a semidecent Production entry and Rod's Open Saloons mob.

Located aforementioned young chap just off junction 3 of the M25 and deposited him at Hailwoods. Dedicated lad to walk approx 5 miles at silly o'clock on a Saturday to stand in the rain all day.

Despite the drizzle, the rain, the torrential rain and the generally wet weather it was a good day on post 24 with the usual good company and banter that Brands is famous for.

Have a great off season folks, see you at training day or on the bank next year.

A massive thank you from all in Race Control to all the marshalling team at Brands on Saturday for the superb support you gave the RC team whilst coping with such wet and cold conditions throughout the day.

You were all absolutely brilliant with way the various incidents were dealt with and the way the rescue and firetrucks supported the recovery and clearance of cars, parts and debris during the race into the night was fantastic - well done to everyone for contributing to a great days racing.

Thanks also to Ian and Jerry in the Safety Car - must admit at one stage early on in the main race I was wondering if you were going to end up with more laps than several of the competitors! Thanks for all your efforts - greatly appreciated.

Also well done to Rod's Open Saloon Enduro competitors also for a very entertaining race once again - brilliant group of competitors and well done to you all for raising so much money to help Lily. See the following link for info - www.brookerracing.co.uk/lily/ Great to see Lily at the presentation after the race. Keep up the good work and hope to see you all next year.

Terry
