2004 NW FF1600 Classes - Confirmation

Some of you will know that we moved away from the usual Pre87 and Post86 split for round one. This was because the Post86 entry had gone into reserves and there was spare capacity in the Pre87 entry.
This was the subject of some debate at our drivers meeting.

This is what happens when you have a popular and oversubscribed championship

I have received the following email from Steve Burns

Quote:
Hi Ian,

Please cast your eyes over the attached points tables before I issue them to the drivers. As discussed at the drivers meeting I have transferred the Class C points to the Post '86 race.

I have also agreed with Drew today that the Class split this year will be Post '86 / Pre '87 with any reserve entries in the Post '86 race being allowed to compete in the Pre '87 race - back of grid (but not scoring points - so should encourage people to enter in good time).

To keep the possiblity of this to a minimum where possible the Pre '87 race should be scheduled after the Post '86 race to allow the reserves to compete in the correct race should space be available.

Thanks for a good day yesterday. It was great to meet your regular drivers and put some faces to names and I was made to feel very welcome by all of the officials and (most!) of the FF competitors.

Cheers,

Steve.

Sounds good to me..

It's the fairest way to do it.....

So, if you are up for a Championship, no excuses for late entries.......

I'll be bringing you an apple at the next meeting(!)

Steve Burns seems like a nice boy!! He stood up to the tyrade at the meeting well. It's refreshing to see our views being noted and acted on. I am happy with the new arrangement. It's a good idea to run the post 86 race first but if the pre 87 race is always going to be the last race on the programme I am going to have to get the lights on my trailer fixed.

I think that's a fair solution as long as this doesn't mean we are last race again. There should be room in any programme to run both races around the middle of the meeting.

Race entry service of credit card payment on opening date suits me and effectively I've entered all meetings already.

I'm glad Steve enjoyed himself and we didn't put him off too much.

www.clubff1600.co.uk for the points. Neil is scoring points in the post 1987 championship, but raced in the one-time-only pre 1990 race, so Diz had to make an adjustment (I am not sure what it was based on) to include him in a 'fair' position in the results. I knew you'd be annoyed Chris.
