SOM Silverstone

I have a couple of questions regarding the SOM race at Silverstone on the 30th & 31st May -

Which layout is it on?
Do we have the pits?
Who is supporting the FF1600 main event ?

Its the national circuit (you can all get some WHT practice in!)

I believe so.

Dunno - the newe BRSCC forms don;t give us that info! I except Mr Sowman willbe able to confirm.

Are you coming down here to race with some quick drivers Chris?

I am indeed Mr Dawkins

I have never raced at Silverstone so it should be fun.

That seems to cover it - and to confirm it is on Saturday and Sunday with Combe on Monday, although I'm not sure if FF1600s will be there both days or just one.

Yup to confirm it is the Sat & Sun, not the Sun/Mon.
Ive seen three different dates published for this event (Sat/Sun, Sun only, Sun/Mon), so ended up confirming with the BRSCC over the phone.

Let's hope they don't try to join the FF1800s with the FF1600s.

Yeah, most of them held us up last time! Pass us on straight, then we almost run into the back of them in the corners!

Steve: you guys should def come down, its going to be good, great WHT practice!

Chris: Its a good track, quite fast, good for overtaking/slipstreaming. Can be tricky in the wet though - spesh woodcote!

Just booked in for testing, I assume it is on the Friday as I didn't pay much attention when booking...

I know the SOM boys are racing on the 23rd as well this month but any idea on the timetable for the Silverstone weekend? It would be good news to get all the racing done on the Sat rather than waiting a day....

Anyone got any ideas?

Plus what is a fast time around the National circuit for a FF1600?

I know mate, if i do i wont be testing. I need to start doing extra rounds to get my scores together for the KOK c'ship. Will be doing a few Castle Combe soon I think.

A 3 dead would be ultra quick, mid 3's to early 4's will put you somewhere near the front of the grid I should imagine.

Enjoy your business trip Chris. We'll all enjoy four rounds of the NW FF1600 series while you are away. Don't forget to log on to www.clubff1600.co.uk to see what you have been missing.
