BARC Snetterton Dunlop Festival 1st/2nd April
Great meeting - well organised - many thanks to all involved; all the Barc Team and especially Mike Whitney,Dave White and all in Race Control for all their efforts at keeping everything running on time, despite the weather and not forgetting all the competitors for some superb racing and full grids.
Also to Alex's team for the quick recovery of the two Radicals during the Safety Car period. Special thanks to all those on my team on Riches & Sear for all your help-Jerry,Tony,Steve, Will, Trevor and the lads who came all the way from Middlesborough Andy,Paul and Robert - couldn't have done it without you all. Terry |

Thanks for the mention Terry but as you said it was a great all round team effort from everyone, including the competitors. Even the two Radicals that caught fire managed to stop close to the fire trucks!
And the grid walkabout on Sunday was a nice touch and seemed quite popular with the public. I believe it will be Mini's on the grid for the walkabout at the next round, which is Brands over the May Day bank holiday weekend. |

Mike,
Yes had a great day out at Sear - we're immune to the rain and wind after all these years!! Great picture - If only you could see the word "Dunlop" around the arch of the Rainbow it would put the bridge at Donnington to shame! What a PR opportunity missed for the Snet Dunlop Festival. Hope you managed to get plenty of good pics. Al - sorry to see you having problems during the qualifying and missing the race - hope it's not too serious or expensive? Terry |

I am down for a couple of these meets, but all i have written down is "dunlop" which isn't too helpful, Can anyone tell me what to expect at these meets please.
I have placed myself in the corner with my "special person" hat on. |

Do a forum search, or Google, on "Dunlop Great and British" and you will have all you need to know.
And of course you could do the old thing of checking the timetables on the BARC site. |

Thanks for the concern Terry, I am hoping it is just a head gasket as it runs and sounds OK just nice hot water from the exhausts :-(
Nice free coffee and biscuits if nothing else Dan:-) |

Sorry about the dumb question, most sites are banned on this network. It took lots of bribary to get them to add this site to the allowed list.
Cheers Stig, nice straight answer just what I needed, already have people interested in coming to spectate from work now. Just shame i can't get any of them to try the marshalling malarky |

Forgot to add that the "Something else" Thing there changes every meeting. Brands is getting extra minis I think, Pembrey is getting Karts.
although what we're supposed to do with Karts is another matter... do we treat them like cars or what? |

off subject a little but so did the doctors car in the closing btcc meet on brands gp loop, the squirrel waited paitently while the crocodile of renualts went past, then failed to spot the ceyenne screaming down the track and met a nasty end with a porche badge.
so don't treat the kart drivers like that, they won't thank you |

we have lifted three of them onto the back of a flat bed before, drivers have sat in them to keep the brakes on. At Thruxton, i am sure blue book readers out there will be having a fit about that but once it is on the truck not my issue (slopy shoulder syndrome i know). I just wish we could pick up tin tops like that and hurl them on the back of the flat bed. it would make the clear up so much quicker

Seriously, Yes Dan is quite correct; you can get over four on a flat bend, especially one with a tail extension. Much easier to recover that SS and tin-tops! However, they do seem less reliable and seem to break down often!

And if you think they are mad, then you try sitting in a plastic chair with no seat belts, with your rear end an inch above the ground, wearing bike leathers and doing a top speed well into 3 figures!!!!!! |

I watched a race at Lydden with these things years ago, the guy at the front lost it and everyone seemed to pile into him must have been 14 or 15 involved, they stretched about 4 of them off, total nutters.
