No, at least that i know. And this is, perhaps, the bigger problem (according italiaracing.net): no TV coverage.

I read on a German forum this Beru Top 10 series is only covered by small local TV channels and not by a national channel (like DSF).

The Top 10 will only be shown on MDR, Premiere and N-TV. All local German channels.
The complete championship is in trouble, not only the DPM. They even put the Alfa Diesel cars in the same race as the DPMs. Could be fun!
The new for 2005 promised GT championship (sort of allcomer event) has only 4 cars entered, so the first races are already cancelled.
Formula Renault: in trouble!
Renault Clio Cup: about 20 cars.
Only Ford and Toyota have full fields.

racingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
As far as I am aware, WSR are actually still running last year's cars, so unless they have built two more, I doubt that Maurere will have 2 MGs, sad really as they are very fast cars

Isn't the 2005 MG Collard running, not a 2003 car anyway? I didn't think WSR built new cars for 2004, they just developed the 2003 machines...

Could be wrong of course. But since they had three cars in 2003, there are two spare?

Brands ? I would of thought that a strange choice - or are they not allowed to test at tracks they haven't raced on yet - eg Silverstone ?

No Brilliance racing in 2005. Menard will build a car on new model specs. Only testing will be carried out in 2005.

a more realistic timescale, especially as they have a new model to be launched for next year that will form the basis of the future WTCC car.

Lets all be generous for a change and wish Brilliance, John Batchelor and Menard the best of luck.

So the existing Brilliance cars are basically a testbed? I consider them a writeoff. Built for racing, but no real track time? How much can they carryover from the existing model to the new one?

I think the original plan was to race the current model this year while developing next year's car - not an unusual approach

But now, they're not going to develop the current model under race conditions, only simulated race conditions at most? Going thru a large part or an entire season under constant race stress could yield more data than a couple of test sessions? How many carrryover could they derive from the old to new?

24 Hours Nurburgring

I know it has nothing to do with the WTCC, but any of you going to the Nurburgring 24 Hours this weekend, feel free to visit me and have a chat and a drink at the Toyota Hospitality Unit. We are placed at the Heli pad, near the Mercedes Arena.
Always nice to meet 10 10-ers (ten tenthers? )
Will be there as of Thursday morning 'till Saturday evening.

Last Thursday Jeroen Bleekemolen has tested a BMW of Carly Motors at Zandvoort. Bleekemolen and Carly Motors didn't comment on the reason for the test. See 3rd photo at: http://www.pittalk.nl/bericht.php?nieuwsid=1968

Interesting info. If Carly needs money for WTCC, Bleekemolen family has "euros" to pay it.
