marshalette should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Belgian GP advice please!!

Some Knockhill friends and I are starting to plan a visit to Spa next September, but have never been before and were hoping that someone out there would be able to give us some advice on how to go about it. What's the best way to do it? Book our own travel and hotel/B&B separately or go with the 'tour package' option?? If the latter, can anyone recommend good companies, or ones to avoid? We're planning to spectate, by the way, not marshal (at least, not this time!! )

Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance, lovely people!

It never occured to me that we could camp at Spa! Shows you how much I like my luxuries!

We don't want our wee trip to be a rush (like yesterday coming back from Croft ) so if it's going to be a few days I don't really want to camp - there might not be a socket for the straighteners and what on earth will we do without a big wall-mounted mirror??!?!?

I may not be the girliest of girls, but I'm still female!

If you've got access to transport to get there (ie. a car), then you might as well book direct and cut out the surcharges from the tour companies.

You can camp at the circuit and a lowly entrance ticket gives access to a huge number of viewing areas.

I'd expect you'd have difficulty finding a nearby hotel without using a tour company though, but seeing as the F1 boys only race for one day then camping isn't too much of a hardship.

Make sure you've got wet weather gear because you will need it. Got soaked last year in about 2 minutes flat. When it rains at Spa it really comes down fast.

Last year they wouldn't send our tickets to the UK. We camped on the wrong side of the track on Saturday night and had to trek around the track and up to the ticket office, which was about 3-4km away (don't ask why, I don't know!). As such we missed a lot of the support racing Still bitter about that!

Take battery operated straighteners - never used them, but may work

My piece of advice - get there early to get a seat if you're bronze / general admission - if you don't, you may end up sat on end of woods which is aka another (free) toilet for the Friday - may not want to sit there.
