I just got my dream car: a 2002 M3 coupe with SMG shifter. Now I'm having nightmares about making the payments, and I spend my weekends cleaning off the kids' fingerprints and orange juice spills.
Although the Ferrari 360 Modena is probably my favorite car, if cost was no object, I'd go with a Porsche GT2. I'm a big believer in stealth. Ferraris are too in-your-face, too ostentatious. Not my style. A Porsche GT 2 is much faster and looks much better than a regular 911, but to most people it looks like just another run-of-the-mill Porsche. Same deal with my M3, on a lesser scale. I wouldn't be seen dead in a Ford GT-40. An embarrassment for Ford. This is what Mays and the Ford "best and brightest" came up with -- a copy of a 30-something year old car? Just saw it at the NY Auto Show. After a lengthy spiel by the usual bimbo with tight clothes and a mic, I hung around the display and listened to comments from the crowd. No one under 35 knew or cared that it was based an old race car. It's encouraging that Ford wants to do something special, but sad that Mays couldn't do anything with it. My true dream car right now is a Lotus Elise, strictly for fun. Unfortunately, they are not available in the US. (Supposedly coming in the next year or two, $38-45k range, get your deposit in now.) The Elise is small enough to seem "cute" rather than excessive, but fast enough to hold its own against almost any car out there. http://homepage.mac.com/eatapc/PhotoAlbum6.html |

AH! But you WOULD like the real GT40!
A customer has one of the originals, and every once in a while we go cruising. You wouldn't believe the crowds it generates. Unfortunately, it really sucks as a road car! |

If price doesn't matter, it must be the most expensive road car on earth, MCLAREN F1....

As I say the 32 isn't a show car, it's a driver, but everything is done very well. No specailty built rod here, the guy did all the work himself and to a very high quality..
He wouldn't part with it for any amount of money and I don't blame him. |

Then you want a 67 427 Vette with sidepipes.
Or a Shelby GT 500 Perhaps a Hemi Cuda or a 440 Challenger |
