GTD/FIAGT3 Cars 2014
I'm trying to put together a list of GTD/FIAGT3 cars for USCR 2014.
So far we have for the 2014 season Ferrari 458 Audi R8 Aston Martin Vantage SRT Viper GT3 Porsche Cup GT3 AMG SLS GT3 But what about; BMW Z4 GT3 McLaren MP4-12C Nissan GT-R GT3 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 Chevrolet Camaro GT3 Bentley Continental GT3 Chevrolet Corvette GT3 GTD could be a very diverse class in 2014 |

What is the cost difference between the FIA GT3 and the Porsche Cup GT3?

Keeping in mind in all this is that a GT3 Cup and an FIA spec GT3R are totally different cars really. GTD is supposed to have the GT3 Cup as it's benchmark, but the GT3 Cup is nothing near or close to the GT3R, which is the FIA GT3 spec version of the 911. (The GT3 RSR is the GTE version)
So basically the 'true' FIA GT3 cars (R8, AMG, etc) are all dumbed down to much lower levels of performance (the Gt3 Cup benchmark) in the GTD class. If USRC were to make it a true Gt3 class the GT3R would need to be an option rather than a cup car, but at that point they're stepping on the toes of the GTE machines pace-wise, budgets go up (I would guess) and at some tracks the GT3 cars would likely be faster. (more horsepower but less aero would suit Daytona I would guess) |

If GT3 were mostly amatuer drivers they would be slower than GTE. ELMS works decently with the two classes.

Will it be as fast as a full-on FIA GT3 car in 2013 spec? No, but I don't think it'll be terribly far behind and it gives all those teams that don't want to shell out for a full GT3 a good option to race in the series on a reasonable budget. |

True for 2011-2012 BES seasons, this year SRO adopted a simil FIA bop + pirelli facepalm compound = 2013 BES GT3 slowed down as well.

Yeah, I know, ELMS GT class is a pro-am class, GT3 have been slowed down to don't let GT3 finish ahead GTE. If I remember well also fuel tank of GT3 have been aggressively boppized.
