Basically LMDh looks more or less like LMP1 before the bulbous front ends came in vogue. Lola-Aston could easily pass for an LMDh.

Don't know, just from this short clip you can tell how "bigger" this lmdh look, it seems the increased length to 5m helps a lot to make these cars more distinctive. Lmp2 cars (and old lmp1 as well having same size) look cool on TV but if you watch them in real life they look so tiny... almost like toys if placed close to a GTE car.

The lola Aston was the original dpi. Manufacturer shaped grill, production related engine. Done and done!

One other thing I've noticed and I'm not sure what the rules say about this, but the splitter leading edge is not straight in plan view, unlike with every LMP/DPi car. This is another thing that made LMPs unattractive and blunt looking. This one is curved. Those following Formula1 will know that as of 2017 the F1 regs mandated that front wing's leading edge must have a particular < shape in plan view, instead of the traditional [ which simply maximised the bodywork within the allowed "box".
This Porsche is not quite a < but more of a (

If memory helps me, both 908 and rs spyder had same size 4650mm x 2000mm while oreca 07 is slightly longer and 1900mm wide...

Meh, not a fan of the current we can't think of new sh-stuff any more so let's use the old stuff again with a lick of paint. TV, movies now racing? LMDh was fine, but guess when you buy out HSR and you want to push the tie-in cause you're gonna add HSR events to a few IMSA events in the future, use the old name.

good nostalgia effect move, even if to me "GTP" should had been reintroduced in 2012 when riley and corvette DP3 were actually looking like GTP cars

I had the same thought, didn't believe IMSA would do something that actually makes sense!

I liked the little video they put out about it too, mostly because of the shots of the old cars

Watchint the 24 and just had the thought that the GTP class is going to sound an awful lot like GTD and especially GTDP. Can we rename the lamp classes GTP2 and 3.
