I'm happy to be put right here, but I can only remember that the Sunbeams, in all series, were all 2 door versions. That picture surely is a 4 door version, with the Hillman badge at the front.

The picture is definitely a Hillman Minx with me driving - she was fondly known as Minnie the Minx and was a great hoot to race. Would regularly beat the Sunbeam Rapiers (which of course were a 2 door pillarless saloon) as we had a trick short-stroke 1600cc engine .

Crikey quite a diverse set of images in your request show today Bob..... from Vauxhall to HWM Alta, a yellow Connaughts and a Talbot Lago with many others in between. Indeed something for everyone and you certainly did very well with the ones in 'my' set.... all personal favourites. You know my tastes quite well!

Thanks for my set, Bob. Certainly like those, particularly the Ferrari.
Also like Peter's bike set.
My first memory of being at a circuit was around 1954/55 when we went to Brough, near Hull. I think I'm right in saying it was the aerodrome at the Blackburn (?) factory strawbailed to mark the circuit for racing. There were mostly 2 wheeled motor bikes racing but also a couple of races for those 4 wheeled versions, mostly Coopers but also Kiefts and, I seem to recall, a Parker - presumably for Don (?) Parker. I think it was this meeting when there was a newcomer on the track named John Surtees to challenge Geoff Duke who was in his prime.
