Yo martin-1 with all due respect with an excellent thread but i disagree with you about the turn 1 at shanghai its an interesting corner and one of 2 good corners on the circuit the other being the corner before long straight.

Bad corners
1. New Tamburello (Imola) (although its changed for a good reason)
2. New Nordkurve (Hockenheim)
3. Michelin Arena (Nurburgring)
4. New Variante Alta (Imola)
5. New Last Corner (Fuji)
6. Le Mans New Chicanes (Le Mans)

My least favorite corners have to be the Festival Curves at Portland. For some reason, the main straight at Portland is twice as wide as the rest of the circuit (OK, it doubles as a drag strip, but then why is the rest of the track so narrow?), so I understand why something is needed there, but the second half of that chicane makes no sense. First of all, it's much tighter than the first bend, but second of all, the track abruptly narrows from about 60 feet wide at entry to about 30 feet wide at the exit. The double-bottleneck ensures a huge accident at the first corner of whatever races there. Why not repave and widen the rest of the circuit, and have the cars enter Turn 1 the way they did before?
