Well there you go. It would be good to see it do well, it’s just there’s every chance it could go nowhere

The plan isn't as advanced as some experts suggest it is.

No car or car preprarer allocated for the program yet, either.

Yes, but it is an artificial creation caused by finance and an uncertain future. I am sure if someone flashed enough money in front of them the front door and welcome mat would appear very quickly.

It hasn't worked in the recent past, when it was suggested that up to 3 parties were hoping to buy some RECs.

Adderton flashed the money, yet Supercars told him to go away and that they would not be selling 2x REC to him!?

Did Mr Adderton have a preparation group secured?
Or cars?
Or engine source?
A workshop?
Personnel?

It’s probably not necessarily a ‘no’ for ‘no’s sake...

Lets get back on topic as this thread seems to have deteriorated into a discussion about a category described by respected Motor Sport UK magazine contributing and respected journalist Doug Nye as "overrated and overhyped". Anyway I am hearing names like Denyer, Bright, D"alberto, Rullo, Morcom and reigning a Australian Champion or two being involved. maybe more announcements this week.

A champion of a real series or something contrived like F4?

At least the above are at least on a par with AGT, perhaps a step up - that is what I have in mind as a minimum.

That should give us a very good idea of what these cars can do, hopefully without the appalling driving standards of the European races.

You do then wonder if we might see some Aussie teams and aces take on some of the wTCR races in Asia, Suzuka might be too difficult but Sepang and Macau might be interesting?

Not sure what a Real Series is or what a contrived Series is but yes the F4 Champion of 2018 did test a car and is probably a possibility to race as is the 2018 Toyota 86 Champion who was less successful in F4.

My understanding is that Supercars rejected the sale because there was no team in place and there wasn’t enough time to put a package together for 2019.

I think getting all these big names on the board is just to add some faux credibility.

It is getting interesting now with 2 Supercar teams jumping in with 2 different brands.

I guess with so little work possible on the cars there's not really a benefit of scale to have 4 cars the same instead of 2 pairs.

I have to admit I find that a bit odd.

I wonder now if there are 4 Astras coming in?

In the right hands and with the right budget, it's a quick car.
