Hitech Piquet Sport splits
The Autosport website is reporting that Hitech and Piquet will go their separate ways, with immediate effect. What'll happen to the GP2 campaign, then?

It will continue as a Piquet Sports operation, although they will have to keep the existing name until the end of the season.

Piquet has had some things go against him this year, and looks like Hitech must be severly frustrated with their position within the team. But ow well.
And go Rosberg, the title looms. |

Thought the title was a cert for Heikki at the start of the season but the young Rosberg has really come good of late. I chip off the old block methinks.

ART are bringing their f3 dominance to the gp2 field. i have no doubt that heikki, giorgio, adam, scott, nelson etc etc would all be able to get rosbergs results in those cars! but well done rosberg for another pole nonetheless.
the piquet thing doesnt surprise me either. i think the piquets are fed up that he isnt winning and because he can afford to, instigated a spilt. |

I think Piquet Sport just 'used' Hitech Racing in order to gain a GP2 entry.Hitech have strong links to Renault and Bruno Michel so were always likely to be one of the 'chosen' teams.It is quite obvious that Piquet will always remain under the 'control' of his own people so the split was never a question of 'if' but 'when'.

Just read on the Piquet website ,that all Hitech team personnel are to remain except David Hayle.
