Open Saloon and Open Sports Car Series 2005

Just flying a kite here, but I would like to gauge the support for a series of Northern races along the lines of the old Special GT and Special Saloon Car races.

Series 1. If it is a Sports Car it is eligible.
Series 2. If it is a Saloon Car it is eligible.

Classes could be something like :-
A) over 2000cc
B) 1601-2000cc
C) upto 1600cc
D) Bike engined

Venues could include Anglesey, Cadwell, Croft, Kirkistown, Knockhill and Oulton.

Or just add support to the Darlington & District MC series and get that to move around the north a bit.

Club Racing like it used to be.

Doesn't the DDMC already go to Knockhill, Cadwell and Oulton as well as Croft?

DDMC was a bit limited in its scope this year - Croft and Knockhill only - though it usually tours around a bit more. But BARC NW sports/saloons did Oulton, Anglesey, Croft, Cadwell and Mallory. Both seem to let almost anything in - I reckon its already covered, Diz. But some lobbying of either series to go to Kirkistown would be great!

Shame that Ingliston shut.

Returning to previous threads... Do we need another championship with similar regs to another (two or three) existing championships - especially in the North?? I don't really think so.

Rob.

I like the DDMC series. Does it have 4 wheels sir? It does, then I'm sure we can fit you in.

Really makes for some good racing and I would hate to see it watered down with yet another championship, considering we already have the BARC NW Saloons running on bascially the same set of circuits.

Why not go for additional classes, or simply more entries in the existing championships?
