It got called F3000 after a formula change in '85 and has been so ever since. There were moves to change the name back to F2 a couple of years ago but for some reason it was decided to persist with F3000.

they tried to resurrect it recently, didn't they? or was that what turned into european f3000/f3000 italia? gareth reese (sp) won it, didn't he?
