Was great to see both Williams in q2, and on merit, not because of heavy rain or some other force majeur. Would love to see them regularly at least in the mid field.

It would appear that both Haas and Alfa Romeo have manged to build cars even worse than the Williams, i can see the end for both of these teams.

I think the fact they have the worse engine in the car does not help them

Big boost for Williams, they are really mixing it with the midfield. This circuit really suits the car and they have the right engine too

George did a similar job last year. A good driver can really hustle the time out of the car round Hungaroring.

The fact that Latifi got into Q2 as well was amazing, track evolution or not.

Notwithstanding George's previous pace in 2019 where he was 16th, if Latifi can hustle the car into Q2 then it suggests the car is vastly improved from last year. Unless of course poor old Robert Q was really useless last year.

Latifi learning. But signs look better than I thought for him.

Russell says it how it is. In the dry they are nowhere still.

Latifi has a bit of a nightmare day but he was shafted badly with the pit-release early on.

Difficult to pinpoint anything Russell did wrong really.

Although sending Latifi out into the side of the McLaren was a major boo-boo from the team too.

Car upgrades for Silverstone, so hopefully they can show well and race better next time!

Possibly it works it's tyres in such a way that they get 'into the window' quickly for qualifying but on a longer run the tyres don't stay in 'the window' and performance drops off as a result.

Yep we've seen it a fair bit historically.

Before their domination, Merc had a good couple of years flattering to deceive. Qualy went well but tyres shot to pieces in the first stints and Nico/Schu/Lewis finishing a long way off.

Used to happen with Ferrari quite a lot in the 90's and the Saubers.

Bearing in mind all the Merc cars have stepped up how about Merc really pushing engine development to compete with Ferrari that transpired to be it wasnt and then Ferrari got pegged back and Merc by hard work are even further up the road? Only Ferrari could shoot itself in both feet. Still hopefully it legs Williams up

Fair point; I suppose the tyres may get up to temperature quickly, enough for a quick lap, but then go off and compromise the longer runs.

I am surprised Williams can't find any race pace, maybe they need to look at their setup, as I feel there is more to come from the car than what we have seen so far

It was an interesting issue to observe, and covered in a bit of detail at the time.

They probably just need to soften the rears of the cars. Lower the rear anti-roll bar a bit. I think the increased traction should give them a few tenths.
