Is the long straight tunnelling or dredging the earlier section of track?
As drawn it appears to be tunnel but there isn't much space from a tunnel exit to pit entry.

ok, this is one of my unnumbered concept track after le mans. this is a permanent street styled track. track length is 6.7km with 2 straights over 1km and a wiggly section of 1.3km. T3 is an option of a very fast kink with no run-off or a comparatively slower chicane with some run-off.

track 39 is more of a club/national circuit being just over 2km in length. scale is 1cm=20m, giving the front straight a length of 580m(29cm). length of full circuit is 2.060km(103cm) (almost the length of the headphone wire I used to trace the circuit to measure)

track 40 is an anticlockwise track with 15 corners. its aimed at touring cars such as the V8 supercars and DTM, maybe IMSA at best. scale is 1cm=25m, giving the front straight a length of 625m. it T1 chicane can be skipped for a 800m straight.

I think your most recent design would be much more fun to drive if you upscaled the lengths of the straights between the final corner and Turn 1, and between Turns 1 and 2, went straight through the first chicane, turned the new Turn 1 into a left-handed version of Copse Corner (of Silverstone) and turned the corner at the end of the 2nd long straight from the hairpin-ish one it is now into a Curva do Sul (from Jacarepagua/Rio).
All of that would be possible with the blot shape you have come up with. Yet, the plot of land you have in mind for it probably isn't near big enough.

track 41 is an old design that I did and didn't get round to filling out the infield until later (it was supposed to be track 5) so the layout is somewhat angular. heading is anti-clockwise with 11 corners. scale is 1cm=40m, giving the front straight a length of 440m(11cm). the back straight is 1.04km in length with the kink.

so I had a goal to release one layout per month, but I had a pretty busy month. so i'll release 2 today to play catch up.

track 42 is a small anti-clockwise circuit designed for TCR or junior formula racing. scale is 1cm=20m, giving the front straight a length of 500m (25cm) and circuit length just short of 2km

track 43 is a circuit that needs topography to help it make sense. its aimed for American series like IMSA and IndyCar so the pitlane is the wall as not to cramp the paddock area with the run off at T6. there is a crest just before T7 ant that whole section is downhill till T12. track is anti-clockwise and has a scale of 1cm=35m, giving the front straight a length of 630m(18cm), and a track length of 4.375km. blue kerb section for karts.

Track 44 is an older design with a simpler layout. heading is clockwise. circuit is set sideways on a hill, divided into 3 separate shelfs, with T3-4 being the low point and T11 being the highest point. scale is 1cm=25m, giving the front straght a lenght of 475m(19cm)

For the long circuit with the first corner being a left hander, and the pit exit inside the apex that's fine.
For the short circuit the pit ext would be on the racing line, cars would be hugging the pit wall, and staying left across the opening to the long circuit before the 90 right rejoining the long circuit.

yeah, I kind of painted myself into a corner when I made that shortcut, but that shortcut shouldn't be used often

in terms of your opinion of track 37, I could make the bottom of the V a slingshot type corner, and keep the current hairpins at the tip. also when you say drawing a city around it, what exactly do you mean? my style of circuits tries to have parts where one can pass during the race, and others for gaining or losing time in qualy.
Sorry to have taken so long for a reply. I guess work got in the way of that ;-)

When I used to draw a street circuit, I usually included the escape roads and some other parts of the street grid in the design to deliberately make it look more like a street circuit and less like "just" a road course. That's what I tried to suggest when I recommended you to "draw a city around it".

Feel free to take this suggestion with a grain of salt because I also liked to get a bit crazy with some of my circuit designs. For example, having been a fan of Monaco (who isn't?), I had a go at designing my own track on the harbour. So the coastline had to be in the design as a necessary requirement. For the crazy part, one loop of the circuit then went out onto a pier which was big enough to provide the safety features of a modern road course - and to have a long enough straight for some slipstreaming. If I had drawn just the actual track shape and not its surroundings, all of that would have been lost. FYI: https://tentenths.com/forum/showpost...5&postcount=90

Here's looking forward to more cool track designs from you.

track 45 is a bit of a windy design, cramping 19 corners into a 3km layout. Probably better suited to bikes and smaller cars.

Track 47 is a design I put a little more detail with a few marshal posts (the little squares) and grandstands for a one off. track is clockwise and has a scale of 1cm=40m, giving the front straight a length of 840m(21cm) and circuit length of 2.840 km.

Track 49 is a clockwise layout aimed at IndyCar and/or IMSA. scale is 1cm=30m, giving the front straight a length of 630m (21cm) and a track length of 4.8km (160cm). Short circuit has a length of 3.390km. The Mini circuit is something I'm pondering, that has a length of 1.620km.

its time to raise the bat cause its track 50 (yeah, made the half century). track 50 is a layout I posted on my other page years ago, but revamped. the basic shape is the same, but a few minor tweaks and one big one in the form of scaling. track is clockwise with several layouts all revolving around the crossroad around T9 on the long layout. scale is 1cm=20m, giving the front straight a length of 580m (29cm) and the back straight a length of 560m (28cm).

Track 51 is a clockwise layout with 20 turns. T2 is designed to be almost flat in a GT car. scale is 1cm=20m, giving the front straight a length of 400m (20m), adding up to 700m after adding the straights either side of the T1 and T20 kinks.

Track 52 is an anti-clockwise circuit with 12 corners designed for touring cars and national championships. the feature corner is the fast T11 with the wall ready to meet you should you run a little wide. scale is 1cm=25m, giving the front straight a length of 800m(32cm) and a track length of 2.825km(113cm)

track 53 is an anticlockwise circuit with 10 corners. scale is 1cm=30m, giving the front straight a length of 450cm (15cm) and a track length of 3.240km (108cm). I tried adding a rallycross track to it by adding some dirt shortcuts, but couldn't quite iron out the details the way I liked.

Aside from Rfactor? I've never really thought about locations all that much with any of my circuits. yeah I would like it to be within walking distance to my house but that's not really going to happen.
