Chef [VASC18R1R2] Adelaide 500 1-4 March

So new cars, new teams, new drivers and even a new sponsor for the race weekend. The Adelaide 500 (although punters will still call it the Clipsal 500 out of habit) marks the start of the 2018 Virgin Supercars Championship alongside the Dunlop Super2 Series and a few other support series.

So will DJR Team Penske fire out of the garage to defend their team's championship win and will Mr. Scott McLaughlin redeem himself from last year's Newcastle loss? Or will Triple Eight fire back and the now legendary Jamie Whincup lay the foundation for a possible 8th championship?

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I wonder if Jamie has the motivation. His speech at the supercar awards suggest he went all out this year and may struggle to back up

DJR to do a 888 and scorch earth to dominate the championship.

Jamie has already given up his Fiance and booze. What else is left to give up?

I've nothing against Whincup, he's a great driver but for the sport it would be better if a new driver and a new team win the championship.

For what reasons would the 'sport' be better off?

The competition gets tougher year on year, and he's still at the pointy end. Nothing wrong with that.

Well I think it would be good to see new champions, not Whincup and Triple Eight for zillionth time but it's my view and I'm McLaughlin fan and not a fan of JDub and definitely not a fan of 888.

So tell the other drivers and teams to do a better job.
888 and Mr Whincup shouldn’t be and won’t be rolling over for anybody.

Ok, I'll tell them 😂😂😂
C'mon, don't be that serious, I don't say that they're wrong just because they're winning and I don't think that they shouldn't do their best in order to give wins to others.

I agree. Watching the Shell Fords win most poles, and the most number of races in the season was a domination we might not need to see again.

Isn’t Mr Stanaway odds-on favourite for the championship?

And a so-called has-been still wins the championship on the final lap of the season.

wasnt domination though. the other teams won more races than DJRTP

and stanaway is at 51s for the championship (leading rookie) and 4th in Tickford stable

Three different winners in the last three seasons, and if McLaughlin had gotten up then it would have been with three different teams... where is the domination?

It'll be very interesting to see what the cabin temperatures will be like in the ZB, with its smaller cockpit.

And black seems to be a popular colour for cars this year.
