ppwoodsy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Peugeot GTI180 or Renaultsport 182?

Thinking about buying a new car.

Narrowed it down to 2 I think, either the Peugeot GTI 180 or Renaultsport 182. Not too Sure.

There are pros and cons for both but just wanted some feedback from others as to which I should go for.

Or are there other sporty hatches I should consider?

Any help would be appreciated.

evo magazine - www.evo.co.uk - did a test of the alternatives not too long back. If I remember rightly, they were deeply disappointed with the Pug, but by contrast crowned the Clio 182 as best new hot hatch. I've never been in either let alone driven them, so I can't really help any further.

As far as alternatives go, it's not a sector that I look at that closely, but I've always liked the Seat Leon Cupra.

Generally though, while the better magazines might help, there's really no replacement for giving both a good test drive to see which you like the most...
Welcome to the forum, by the way!

182 hands down.

my 172 is fabulous, and the 182's supposed to be even better.

I'm a little biased, having never been in a 206, but I got my 182 last Monday, and it's terrific. Engine seems a little smoother than a 172 I had previously, and with the gunmetal alloys (part of the Cup suspension pack) it looks great. Goes mental just beyond 5,000 rpm, grip is incredible!
