Many thanks for bringing a pete55 thread 'back to life'!

We still miss him.....


I had been 'on' this forum for less than a year at the time of his untimely passing, but in my eyes, he was a 'knowledgeable' & 'common sense' style of poster. RIP pete55 !

An interesting and honest account of his efforts.

HRT's media team (and Brock himself) suppressing his initial thoughts on Bargs walling their 97 ride was particularly insightful.

May be true but they could have managed Bargs' bubbling enthusiasm better after his provisional pole run.

Did they have pit to car radio in 1997?

If as Noske says, Bargs was on the limit in the warmup, maybe wise heads should have prevailed earlier in the weekend, not just after he binned it...

Mid 70's, although Evan Green mentions on the Channel 7 telecast, and I can't quite recall which year in the late 70's, that the ARDC had banned it.

I worked at HRT then, and was at Bathurst when the car was binned. Absolute silence, and then Noske stormed into the trailer. You could have cut the air with a knife.
