Chubby1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Wow that is the Ex Romano Racing Rig. I Remember coming back from Perth in 98 with my mate who was driving Longhurst's transporter at the time . I have a pic of it somewhere taken on the way back in the middle of nowhere.

Ironic the BMW factory team using a prime mover from arch rival Mercedes-Benz. Obviously wasn't a contra deal like happens today with the truck manufacturer's brand appearing on the car.

Ooooh, JPS 635.

There are some significant 'roo bars on the front of that truck. Either the wildlife was a bit sturdier back then or BMW weren't too convinced of the strength of the front of the Merc!

Travel through the Australian desert at night as this would have done on its way to Adelaide & Perth, witness see the amount of roadkill littering the road and you will understand why bullbars are a necessity.

Tht was exactly the image i was hoping to see. When i saw the all green transporter i thought Jeldwen got left out

Should i assume thats either side of the transporter, opposed to 2 different transporters?

Has anyone ever sat down and counted the number of times that a V8SC team has poached a sponsor from a competitor, rather than get off their arse and go and get someone new from outside the sport?

I'm sure it's a big number.

Very true, I mean how many teams have Supercheap run with? Four?

Indeed a big number, and mostly FPR!

They are a little different in that they have tended to follow a driver around.

I would assume so, you can see there is a Jeld-Wen logo on the front of the B-Trailer in the last Bottle-O photo.

Yes it's the same transporter. One side green, one side blue.....oh and a massive Ford logo on the roof inside the B Trailer

I'm sure it's a big number.
Now that would require someone with plenty of time on their hands.
What generally happens is a lower team brings a sponsor into the sport
and then it ends up at the front end of the field after a season or two.

From there, they get pinched by another team who promise much more
for their $$$. In the end the sponsor eventually has enough and exits the
sport stage left.
