Rossi Di Montelera/Amar - possibly French or Italian? Their best time of 2.30.5 when put into context of Stretton/Minshaw E Type 2.28; Cannell/Bronson Lister Jaguar 2.317; Denis Welch's Healey 2.34 and Philip Walker/Danny Wright's XI 2.34 seems intuitively wrong!!

The others are good peddlers in historics and in some cases modern GT as well....

The odd part is that they came 4th overall making the result consistent with the times

Just checking my photos from the weekend and #40 in the GTSCC was an E type ( there were various car/driver changes from the programme).

It's nonsence.

Impossible.

Car possibly ready for Spa 6 hrs as 2 litre 911's can grow engines up to 3 litres.

Possible hookey car!

Bet he's not asked to come back.

MST have the wrong information. This was one of several car changes announced over the PA, Manfredo Rossi/David Amar drove this "911"

The Hocking/Burnett Abarth won that 2 litre class so something not correct regarding race numbers.

Meanwhile at the other end of the grid my charges James P and Suzanne got his E type home in good fettle and both did as they were told regarding pit stops in GTSCC and in Guards, where both the E and S's MGB were out as single drivers. Such a long lap and small window finished up getting both in on same lap, but fortunately far enough apart as had only one stopwatch!

Great weekend, lovely cars, slickly run while we were there as have come to expect from HSCC. Perishing cold on pitwall at times, and big shower just at BBQ time sat eve. Apart from that, superb fun.

Forgot to add in last post that thanks to Suzanne's generosity I got to try the new circuit layout on Friday in her MGB. In reality the Friday layout was the complete F1 version, complete with 'tight' Vale entry into Club. Someone who will remain nameless spun more than once before realising it wasn't the historic version of that corner (And probably others did as well!) Thankfully for rest of w/end the historic 'fast left' entry was used.

The new Arena bit felt wide and featureless to me. Having enjoyed the Snetterton 300 new infield section recently I was disappointed- maybe because you get very little sensation of speed on such a wide open track?

What a great weekend of racing - even if it was a little cold spectating! I have loads of photos to sift through, but thought I'd post a few from around the pits.

Is this the result of a Martini being shaken, not stirred?

Here is Rudolf's new toy, which was drawing lots of admiring looks... Just a pity that it wasn't able to compete this weekend.

That Abarth is a decent car.

I used to own it and sold it to Paul Hocking about five years ago after rebuild by Gareth Burnett

So 911 is an E Type.

Its only old banger racing so I don't get very excited about hookey cars these days.

Those E Types are very quick, just like they were in period!

Good parts:-Sensible entry fees, well thought out programme and format, helpful officials and a compliant weather man.
Didn`t like :- The new Village/Loop complex. although it was almost worth it for the left-hander leading into the Wellington straight.
HSCC keeps getting better. Well done

I dont think the success of this weekend was ever in doubt... the more I read about it the more I regret having to pull my entry. All bodes well for Brands in July

It was great racing - amazingly we managed the combined 60's and 70's roadsports race with no safety cars and no damage that i'm aware of. It was also a very good decision to use the historic Vale to Club.

I thought in spite of the ridiculously tight complex, the track flowed well. I just feel sorry for the marshalls on the new parts who seem to be located a couple of hundred yards from the circuit. Quite difficult to see the flags at some points (I know, should have gone to specsavers).

But well done to HSCC and Silverstone for a well organised meeting. Now, testing on Friday was a different matter, more red flags than a May Day parade!

Compared to the huge sports car turn out we had a disappointing grid of 23 starters in touring cars, but still good racing. Unfortunately the disembowelling of Lisa & Steve Read's Anglia brought the safety car out early and led to a very iffy Copse for the rest of the race. After pitting I was out on my own so had the luxury of experimenting with the new complex for 3 or 4 laps, but was never as quick as I should have been through there. Next time perhaps.

Here are a few photos from my first batch. The rest can be found here https://picasaweb.google.com/cdicken7/HSCC2011LR# (if my link works).
I have a load of photos from most of the weekend's races, so please feel free to contact me if you would like any hi-res copies (even if your car isn't in my online gallery, it may still be on my PC).

I spent the weekend marshalling at Brooklands and thoroughly enjoyed both days. It was a delight watching that and counting just how long the wheel stayed up.

Can someone start a thread where people can beg for pic's of their cars in these various motoring events.

Sure everyone who gets one gives the lensman a drink.

Make it much more organised

I prefer this ^^^ as it means I receive an email, rather than having to check the thread all the time.
I'm also beginning to realise that I hadn't snapped as many cars as I first thought. Just how many cars were at this meeting...?? Sorry to those whose cars I missed
