Think they appealed so perhaps not!
Personally I don't think he should've been penalised, though it's quite hard to judge from the camera angle given. They should expect moves like that when they race at a narrow track with few overtaking points... |

Oulton Park next, seeing how the place can make a 32 car BTCC grid look dull with single file follow the leader racing, is anybody else worried about how deathly dull it'll make a 7 car TCR UK grid look?

TCR UK lacking entries, acceptable to a certain degree for a 1st season but if it is to last...

...then it has to increase to mid teens as a minimum.
Given some BTCC rides (HARD in particular) are not massively more expensive than TCR (from what I understand, which could be wide of the mark) then I think TCR has it's work cutout: the sell of BTCC exposure to a sponsor is easier than the fledgling TCR series. Now if the BTCC grid does shrink as Mr Gow would like, that could push some drivers and teams toward TCR: I personally think both series could benefit if this were to happen. If I were running toward the back of the BTCC grid then the chance to potentiality be closer to the sharp end of the TCR grid may appeal. I still feel the 30ish car grid of BTCC is OK - but a bit too busy at say Brands Indy, but think they're missing a trick by not awarding points all the way back ala NASCAR. For many finishing a BTCC campaign on 0 points is a distinct possibility, and that has to be demoralising. |

The issue TCR UK has faced from day one still exists 10 months down the line. To trundle around around at the back of the "main event grid (BTCC) or do reasonably well in one of the support categories give better return on Investment than TCR UK. the extra cost to get the foot in the door is balanced out by live TV coverage and vastly better media backing proved by TOCA.
I struggle to see those things changing for next year. It d be interesting asking the drivers and teams who have done at least one round this year if they'll be back or move on for 2019. |

I was hoping to see some increase in grid numbers by now, but now serious questions must be asked

"Across" might be more like it. Higher chance of point paying positions in TCR with the smaller field?

To be fair, Docker has taken a couple of good class results this year in Britcar, including a class win. As such, if scoring points was the main objective, Britcar would be the better option. Notwithstanding this, TCR does give a better chance of running closer to the front of the field - if only because the cars are all in the same class.

I hadn't read about the Diamond Double. It sounds interesting, although I would have added guest drivers like the Buenos Aires 200 km.
It shows that I barely pay any attention to the BTCC. |

Docker has a bit of a 'reputation' in VW Cup, hopefully he won't be the same in TCR as the repair bills are much larger

Things just got interesting, possibly the first credible challenge to the Dan Lloyd steamroller, even with little experience of the car.

Presumably with the absence at Combe of Josh Price in the BMR Honda, and his subsequent split with the team, we've seen the last of him in TCR this year? The Autosport report on Sutton's TCR appearance mentions Warren Scott's proposed expansion into TCR UK, but doesn't give any hint whether that's dead in the water now given the split with Price etc. |

A boost that is needed for the series having Sutton in it. I'd expect Sutton to go well in any tin top series, he is that good

Goodness, something has a smaller field than Britcar? Which is hardly setting the world alight after a number of seasons. Something else I won't do (other than 24hr which is special).
