Christian Fittipaldi

Why does he change the colours of his car each season, why doesn't he stick to the same colours as his team-mate, I don't understand that.

Fittipaldi's car was red when the primary sponsor was Budweiser back in 1996.

When Bud left, the car was changed to black to match the Texaco car since Texaco Havoline and K-Mart were represented on both cars.

Last year Texaco reduced their commitment to only sponsoring the daMatta car, and Fittipaldi’s car was painted blue to promote K-Mart’s BlueLight.com Internet shopping.

K-Mart is now out of the picture and Eli Lilly, a pharmaseutical company, now sponsors the Fittipaldi car. Green and yellow are the colors for its drug Cilias (a Viagra type product).

The Cilias logo does not appear on the car yet, as the drug is awaiting FDA approval.

Unlike F-1, in CART the cars do not have to look the same. The two Newman Haas cars have different sponsors and are painted in the livery of the company that pays the bills. The same is true with Team Rahal. Ganassi and TKG are fortunate in the fact that one sponsor will fund two cars, not all sponsors can afford that, or choose to spend that amount on sports marketing.

I quite like teams with two differently coloured cars. Sha,me Fittipaldi couldn't find a better one than he has got, as the car looks horrid.

I have painted karts in the past to suite the sponsers colors and logos and if they are willing to pay or help me do what i love most, then who cares what colors the race car is, after all its racing, not a bloody car show, dont ya think?

Oh, ok, I didn't quite understand. I thought he changed his colours each year just because he wanted to, just to be creative or something. Silly me!.
