Who Has The Best Paint Job In V8s

I think most teams should get away from the plain old white,is it that white is cheaper or what.I think craigs lowndes car is the best looking car on the track at the moment it reminds of the mcleren f1 cars.I also thaught rodney forbes car last season looked good to,come on teams come up with some desent paint jobs.

Darren
the realities are that the major team sponsor really decides the paint scheme.

For example Valvoline sponsored cars around have a corporate look, with red, white, and blue as the main colours. Of course a red and blue V is mandatory.

What clours would you do John Bowe's falcon, Inky Tulloch's truck and Ward Burtons Dodge NASCAR..they have to be black and yellow with large white CAT logos.

Dale Jarrett's NASCAR has horrible brown as part of its colour scheme, yuk! It has to be because the major sponsor uses brown trucks in its business.

So it is not really up to the teams, the paint scheme must match sponsors corporate colours and style.

I really like Steven Ellery's Falcon.

I like the Paul Morris big kev car. Usually I don't like cars with black wheels, but they go really well with the Yellow. Gibson Motorsport car is not too bad, but it tends to look a little dull.

I am a Ford fan, yet I think the HRT VX's look classy, as do the Ford Tickford Racing Cars.

The worst? I agree with racer69 - Perkins racing (yuk!)

Castrol made up the car design, not the team. The main point is that it gets the sponsor across and it does that quite good.

I would have to say Steven Ellery's Falcon, Have herd "it looks like a Valiant under restoration".

As well as Loundes car, Come on get a sponsor already

Isn't Gibson Motorsport bankrolled by Ford? In which case they wouldn't need a sponsor.

Too easy - best paint in the V8's?

Allan Moffat's Brutt 33 '74 XB Tudor 351 V8.

A man's car no less, all 4 Barrel Holley carby's and real cubes.

Time to retro trade the EF2!

Craig Lowndes car has the best paint job personally.

I miss Mark Larkham's blue car (and so does he actually).

I didn't like the Castrol cars at first, and that opinion hasn't improved much but they look better on track than in photos.

My favourite current paintjob in V8 Supercars is an easy choice, Craig Lowndes' AU. Very nice and classy too.

I also think the HRT cars look great and the FTR cars aren't bad either.

Lowndes AU is simple yet the best of the pack. HRT coming second, but I think maybe it would look better without if they made the sponsorship a little less cluttered.

Paul Morris needs to lose the black wheels!!

I absolutely love black on yellow. That's why I follow the Jordans in F1. Paul Morris needs to change those black wheels to yellow. The same yellow all those tasty Big Kev promo girls are hardly wearing.

I liked the silver Russel Ingall car - bring it back ! As for current cars Lowndes is the pick of them, probably because it's so neat and hasn't been violated by dozens of sponsors yet. I also used to like the VS Forbes used to drive that was that shade of purple...green... or something- and it changed colour when it drove past.

The sponsors may determine the car colour, but they still look good, and make them easy to recongnise as they come around the track.
I personally look for the Pirtek car and like the paint job.
Maybe it is because I like Marcus!! but I like Blue!

Buckshot, that purple/green colour that changes with the light as you look at it from different angles is called Chameleon and it is made by PPG and sells for$1000 a litre!

I think it is beautiful but i never realised how good it could look until I saw it on a '32 Hot Rod at the Shannon's Concours at the recent Historic Race meeting. It's a colour that really brings out curves, flat surfaces don't do it justice.
