Strange Charity Karting Event - Dundrum
A strange idea here i was gonna pitch to the management of Dundrum Shopping Centre and the IKC. The underground car park of dundrum s.c. in dublin has a car park with non slip tarmac (like on junior karting tracks) which is brilliant when wet. Here's the plan. Mark out a circuit on the lowest floor and organise a night endurance race for charity. Who knows? it might work

Good luck! |

Here are two pieces of 1980s info that may help :
o There's actually a precedence for charity karting events within the IKC. 20 years ago they organized an amazingly successful event in Mondello 'karting for Concern'... where all money went to the Concern charity. I think I still have some car stickers from it. o Dundrum Shopping Centre may be difficult, but I don't know whether millionaire property developer Phil Monahan [he built Dundalk Shopping Centre and The Square in Tallaght] is still involved in supermarkets ? His son, Aiden Monahan was an avid [and pretty talented] 100cc kart racer in the 1980s and I imagine maybe involved in the family business. That would certainly help in terms of regulatory issues to do with safety and insurance... otherwise as the guys say, it could be pretty tricky to stage something like that. |

2nd point. Great ventilation system. In relation to the pillars, that will be tricky, i'll try and get some ideas for that, maybe tyres or something. |
