4. J.P. Montoya - Williams-BMW - 1'18"124 - 85 laps
5. K. Raikkonen - McLaren-Mercedes - 1'18"208 - 103 laps

11. N. Heidfeld - Jordan-Ford - 1'20"935 - 71 laps

OK its only testing but Webber is quick.
Does this mean that Jag have pulled there collective fingers out in a bid to keep both HSBC and Webber next year? My spy tells me there have been changes made to this car compared to what he drove last round. Are they ,Jaguar, begining to relise that if they want to be taken seriosly in F1 they need to get serious as well?Do you think that what BAR have achived so far is inspiring them to do better?
So many qeustions sowhat do you think?

Not sure about the rest of it but this is a question I've thought about for a while now.

The mountain that is formula 1 can appear near impossible to climb for a non-Silver/Red/white & Blue car. Even teams like Toyota have found it far more difficult than expected.

I think BAR's recent form will inspire other teams, and that can only be good for Formula 1.

It's great to see Webber showing some speed, hopefully they can convert it in to a good result at the next race.

Yes good for Webber. Looks promising. I'll wait to see the next race result, though.

Good for him, but I still wait for some more race competitiveness, before believing it.

Yep, big Mark Webber fan here, but I doubt it is race pace (that said, pace has'nt really been the jags problem when you look at the timing sheets on the weekend).

If they could just get it to finish more races, in the top eight would be great too. Fantastic job so far by Webber.

In January, Jag said they had some problems with the car that would take until mid-season to sort out. Even if he was running light, it is still a good lap time

Yeah, I'm sure that time is not an indication of race pace.

Even if it was, Jag would not know what to do with it. Seriously. Merely having speed in a car/driver does not mean they can actually be competitive. The strategy, reliability, patience, and experience of running up front are all necessary before they have a shot at performing well consistently. The pressure on the team and every member of it will only grow as it moves up the grid. Much like the difference between testing and racing, running at the tail of midfield and competing for podiums are two entirely differnt animals...

Yes, but the signs are encouraging... for Mark's stocks.

At the start of the season MW said the Jag was every bit as fast as the BAR. I guess it is finally showing form.

After talking to my insider it seems that the Jag Mr Webber drove was R5MK2.From what I'm told on the outside it may appear the same but diamention wise and internially quite different to what we have previously seen. One can only hope this new found speed will carry to the races and not be lost in transit.
On the other hand Mark is quite pleased with both the new car and holding a lap record even if MS samshes it later this year.
