Ferrari 250 LM, in red, never raced or rallied, low mileage, full service history please.

As these are quite rare I would settle for a 917 or that simply amazing Aston Martin DBR that won Le Man in '59

Do you ever get the feeling your dreams will never come true

Lets see... I love the convention denying Panoz equipment and the fact that very little beats the sound of an open-pipe, big block V8 on full song, except for a Ferrari V12 the same way in a Ferrari 333SP.

I also like the Ford GT40 LeMans cars, great shape and supreme endurance.

Ah, yes, That Rothmans Porsche. *sigh* Beauty of a car.

But I will keep my Dino, thank you. Maybe it's just "almost a Ferrari" and not as fast as some, and maybe it does get 14 mpg (miles per Gas Station, that is) but that is my idea of a Real Sports Car.

At least it is now that Bluebottle has sunk my Lamborghini (at least Sparky says it is history. Drat. I liked that car.)

i just got into sportscars a few years ago. so, unfortunately i missed all of the awesome groupc/imsa gtp days.

looking back through photos i would have to say that my favorite groupc/imsa gtp cars of the 1990s are:

(1st) the 1992 renown livery mazda mxr-01. the sensuous combination of the jaguar xjr-14 body, judd engine, red baron rear wing and incredible orange and green renown livery is hard to match.

(2nd) the 1993 peugeot 905 evo 2. im not sure if the evo 2 version of the peugeot ever raced, but it was definately even madder than the 905 evo 1.

my favorite groupc cars from the 1980s are:
(1st) the 1989 wm peugeot - the all time le mans top speed record holder @ 251+ mph, with its streamlined body and enclosed rear wheels (back then the mulsanne really was straight). even the side mirrors were wind tunnel tuned! so awesome.

(2nd) the 1983 mazda 717c. that car was reported to be an ill-handling deathtrap, but man was it cool looking!

moving up to modern times, i think that the most elegant and handsome le mans coupes since 1995 are:

(1st) definately the audi r8c (i dont care if it flunked out). that car just oozed class.

(2nd) the longtail mclaren f1 gtr in high downforce trim - those long sideplates on the rear wing and additional front dive planes are just so awesome.

my two cents sorry, i cant just pick one!

Porsche 917 - in Gulf colours, with Steve McQueen giving it beans down the Mulsanne straight - yeah baby!!!

And rather strangely - Mazda 787B, which one Le Mans with Herbet and others, good colour scheme (orange and green) and the perfect endurance racer.
