Michelin believed that the GT300 did not require excessive tire competition unlike GT500.
Therefore, Michelin selected and supplied the optimum specifications from ready-made GT3 and GTE tires instead of bespoke tires. Michelin supplies GT3 / GTE tires with various specifications all over the world, and it was mentioned that the most suitable tire would be selected from them. However, other tire manufacturers are supplying bespoke tires for the GT300, Michelin tires have poor peak performance, and this concept didn't work. Shame no Michelin in GT500, they had it in them to do the job. But at least we should still see them in the other classes and see what they can do.
This is a big year for everyone, so I look forward to the close competition by the variety of cars. All the ingredients are there, just need to make it lives up to it’s promise |

Doubt it. It’s more of a production based category. Can’t recall a JAF car running in ST. |

Oddly, Subaru hasn't yet revealed which engine model it is.
However, it is almost certain that it is an EJ20 engine because the engine specifications are almost the same. |

Yeah, they still don't mention about the engine. But the engine sound is pretty much similar to old BRZ.

They probably want to keep what's under the bonnet a secret. That way they can do all their work to top standard without anyone else knowing how

I wonder for how long they are going to keep the EJ. At least they sorted their reliability issues last year, but the fuel economy wasn't exactly great which cost them some great results.

So that makes 3 Supras in GT300 now? Good to see more teams running the car. Which makes me wonder- did anyone ever run the previous gen JZA80 in GT300?? I can’t recall it ever happening but the class has a serious knack for cars that flew under the radar like the Corvettes, the 86 and the Hitotsuyama M3 GTR

The Supras aren’t necessarily going to be the main challengers for the title. For sure we are in for a close competitive season and all the classes will be worth watching

SGT official website explains revised 2021 sporting regulations.
https://supergt.net/news/single/20719 I had misread new sporting regulations. *Allowing twice updates to the front diveplanes during the season seems to mean left diveplane and right diveplane. *In a word, GT300/GT300MC can use two types of front diveplanes and two types of rear wings in the season. That is, LDF and HDF specs. |
