New engine manufacturers?
Are we likely to see any new manufacturers (other than Honda) joining F1 in the next few years? Are there any rumours? BMW seem to be making quite a push with electric/hybrid cars recently.... you'd think the new 'eco-F1' would appeal to more than 4 car makers.
On a related note, apologies if it's been discussed somewhere but I couldn't find it.... what test programme will Honda have? As they're not officially in the series yet can they run an unlimited test programme? Can they use a version of the current McLaren? |

Ferrari had an interesting GT test car testing last autumn, it probably had the new F1 engine in the back. |

The way Torro Rosso is being rapidly developed and becoming more independent, makes it more and more potentially interesting to a manufacturer imo.
All that investment probably isn't coming from Mateshitz and co, so either Russian interests or something a little more covert I think... VAG has always been the firm linked to them maybe if Porsche gets to grips with WEC quickly enough then the group will pull Audi out and do something in F1 with one of the other brands. |

My impression is that those at the top of VW Audi want nothing to do with F1 due to how it is controled. I have seen a number of hints about this but nothing concrete.

Considering the horrendous costs and slim chance for success, I don't think we're going to see more engine manufacturers. FIA should have thought hard about regulations that would effectively cap the engine development costs at a reasonable number. As is, I think we will see more companies looking at WRC and WEC in future.

The way F1 is we are never going to get more than four major car manufacturers entering, not like it was back in, er, well you know, probably the seventies.
More than four is normally short lived in any series. |

Looks like something may be a foot with AVL. Also apparently them thinking about pulling out of F1 is nonsense. "Marko ruled out as "utter nonsense" speculation Red Bull could simply pull out of F1 and race elsewhere with Cosworth engines." Cosworth engines, or racing elsewhere? |

Hey, where's PURE- you know, Craig Pollocks' venture. OH PURE!! Where are you?
As soon as he said he was setting this up, I felt it was going to fail. Sad OH, and is that an April Fools', 321GO? |
