Even if it doesn't make it's debut, it gives us something to look forward to to next year. No point putting it out there if it's not ready. Better to get all the teething problems out of the way in testing away from the public eye. But we'll see. Either way, it will be good to see it in action whether it's next month or next year

Not part of the championship, but the Mil Milhas is happening today.
It will run for 1000 miles or 11h, whichever comes first.

This is an offtop, but quite an interesting car. Here we see a classic Volkswagen Beetle, but this is a kind of silhouette prototype based on the Spyder. This car was made by racing driver and designer Rodrigo Bonora. The engine and transmission are the same as those commonly used in the Spyder: a VW AP (220 hp) coupled to a Gol transmission. The body is made in collaboration with MC Tubarão. Bonora notes the convenience and pace of the car with the new body, despite the increased weight (20 kg). Beetle hit the track this weekend at Guapore, where Summer Race marked opening of new racing season at Rio Grande do Sul.

That is something you wouldn't expect to see in this series. Nice addition. Let's see how it goes. Still a classic car

Fat Beetles are very Brazilian, but rather unexpected in 2021.

What do you mean by Spyder? I assume it's not based on the Porsche 550 from the late 50s or the LMP2 car.

It's brazilian prototype made by ex-racer Almir Donato.

I guess, this car isn't allowed to compete at Endurance Brasil. This car was made for "open" categories such as various turismo championships of regional grade.

That makes sense. Still that’s the beauty of motorsport in Brazil. Variety of racing formula

MC Tubarão team has announced its return to self-constructed prototypes for the P1 or P2 category from next season. They made a few prototypes in the period from 1996 to 2015. So it means, there will be another unique prototype next year. Details - later.

While Brazilian and British garagists (as well as Japanese petrol heads) are able to bring such a wonderful machinery on track, there still is a huge amount of sense in racing. You are very lucky to watch these cars racing from the grand stands. For all the outer world it's "clunk, clink, strip your wallet quick" (pronounced with a TV adverts voice).

Tarso Marques complains about the lack of sponsorship. They had it in the spring during the production of the first prototype. The sponsor refused to cooperate during the pandemic. And now Tarso is looking for a new one, so the debut may be postponed.

That’s just bad luck. A lot of sponsors would have committed, but now the global uncertainty will have seen some pull out. So it’s gonna be hard to find another sponsor. Hopefully Tarso can pull something off
