Saw it on iView on the ABC last night.
Not much new material but a couple of things re the launch of the Director and the Polariser.
Like so many people at the time, Peter's own son had a wtf moment.
That whole episode looks like it almost broke John Harvey emotionally.

Still like to know what Brocky was drinking, smoking, or inhaling to believe that polariser stuff.
But what a drive in that 1987 Bathurst, with all that financial stress, team running on an oily rag budget, emotional stress and reputation on the line.

I was lucky enough to meet him once by pure chance scoring a seat next to him up the front of a plane, and we talked solidly for the entire flight. It was like it went in 5 minutes. He was amazing. I have met others in similar circumstances (Glenn McGrath and Eric Bana) and you can tell it gets old pretty fast. Brocky though made everyone feel like number 1.
Anyway being the bloody skeptic I am, I asked him about Dr Eric and the polariser and Brock's response was classic: "must have been working a bit too closely with the fibreglass" with a big wink.

With the release of the DVD of the '87 James Hardie that includes what was happening during the ad breaks you can't help but feel for Seton as another one that go away.
Just as Larry would suffer at the hands of the safety car in 1990 Seto was equally unlucky in 1987.

I interviewed Brock for a school project in 1988.
And yes he made you feel as though you were the most important person in the world at that moment.

And made you remember those memories forever, correct?
Closest Memory I have from Barbagallo chatting to him with my son
and
Watching him Belt up in a LJ Torana (I have the pix) and go out and race DJ in the XY
Was close enough to sit in the doorway and watch him belt up. Great memories with my son

I got Brocky to do a double take, and reverse his parade car back, up on top of the mountain opposite our Flag Point...he looked at me giving him the thumb's up whilst he shook his head with that big grin on his face...
It was a stinking hot day, and lunchtime, and everyone knows if you want to get more oxygen, you use a paper bag...right? and it cooled my head really well...

Kind of glad I didn't pay to watch it and waited for it to appear on the ABC.
Was good to see the Marlboro not pixelated on the cars for a change.
Had some not often seen footage in it so worth the watch though.

I wonder what John Harvey's really thought about Brock and the Polarizer?
It would make for a very interesting long lunch!
But how good did those A9X's look in the Marlboro livery.

Pretty much answered in John's biography.
