I read the Speedcafe article about Alan Moffat's recalling the VL Commodore that they ran together in Europe in Group A and was saddened to hear he is suffering from dementia and is in residential aged care.

I was at a car club meeting that JH brought his speedway car too before he had a CAMS license and he got nothing out of it apart from showing and explaining the car to us. In those days CAMS refused anyone running speedway a CAMS license and anyone who had a CAMS license expulsion if they went speedway racing. The fact that he got no reward out of what was a small nothing event to him always impressed me hugely.
