Our Oulton has a knack for producing big ones, doesn't it? Something to do probably to do with the run-off being...
...well, what run off!!!

Odor's would have been dreadful if it was mid summer and a proper BTCC round. It was a good effort though and easily the most spectacular.
Thompson 2000 was the only big BTCC crash I've seen 'live', it also could have been bad - but lucky the cameramen he hit weren't too bad, but he almost made the trees!

That combined with the fact that certainly up to a couple of years ago the armco and tyre walls at Oulton just didn't seem to be able to cope with any sort of impact. I certainly know of one person who stopped marshalling because he said at the time that the state of the armco at Oulton was just a joke.

I seem to remember the 'Biela sandwich' at the Complex at Thruxton was quite impressive, must have been '94ish. I don't remember much apart from running away as I was on the Marshals post that he hit.
Mind you, it might be personal because he hit another post that I was on, at the Complex again, the following year!

And marshalling is perfectly safe...

Wahey, Teletubby. Nice to know I'm not the only person who felt one particular driver was out to get them.
Yours was Frank Biela. Mine was Piercarlo Ghinzani, who kept throwing Lancias at me at Brands Hatch. And I wasn't even marshalling...

No rule against it and I'm entitled to have my opinions and express them even if they are retrospective. Besides which, History's my thing, Motorsport History especially.

I think the query over why resurrect the threads is based on the fact that the conversation stopped years ago - suggesting the thread had run its course.
Now if something recent occurs, that is relevant to the thread, it makes sense to resurrect it rather than start a new one.
For instance, if a large BTCC crash occurred at - say - Oulton Park this season, then this thread may have been the right place to comment about it.
A post mentioning a crash from 23 years ago, in a thread that had been dormant for over 16 years, seems pointless - particularly if it is not accompanied by a backstory or opinion.

Belcher at Thruxton in 2014, I'm not obsessed with Thruxton crashes, honest.

Snett R2 gets my vote, with Sutton t-boning Welch at full chat, though Croft probably resulted in the most car damage / expense / injury. Thankfully '18 has seen very few incidents so far!
And please limit the thread revivals, comes across as spamming.
