One abiding memory of Croix is the toilets, or disgusting state of. I'd rank them worse than anything I've seen anywhere in Europe and far worse than Santa pod in the 70s if that's possible. You definitely need a cardboard box in your tent if you camp there.

I'm really excited but scared about my abilities to get used to the hard braking of a Group 2 car. So many races with 911's in two litre plus my Capri taught me not to rely on the brakes to stop! In this respect there is always a nice guy in front of you to help… First thing, inflate my bike's tires !
Gerard, my friend, I do of course wish you well with your campaign, and look forward to reading of your undoubted success, however, I am amazed that anyone can get excited about such a mundane vehicle as a Ford Escort.

I know the Spanish have always had a "Mañana" approach to life but our next door neighbour last year said that she was going to visit her daughter in Granada and would be away for 3 days and gave us the key to her house and said could we take the dog for a walk in the mornings. Fair enough we have known her for 15 years or so and off course I said ok no problem. Anyway 3 weeks later she came back and said she was having a good time and decided to stay a "bit" longer !
At the moment she has gone away again and this time she didn't state a return date at all, however it "aint" too bad walking a dog down here at the moment !Click image for larger version

Not popped in for a few days but see the usual suspects are keeping the brews flowing

Amazed at the French diesel prices.....I was only paying just under 90 Eurocents per litre for petrol in Tenerife before Xmas, and diesel was even cheaper! Made the 1000 or so kilometres we drove there very cheap

Any of you guys going to Autosport at the NEC this year? Haven't been for a few years so we're wandering along on Thursday, tho I imagine as usual I'll spend a lot of time looking at all the new tech kit and wondering what it does

What an interesting point again mon ami Robert! Enjoy driving an Escort? Probably not. Race a Group 2 with around 290 hp? Probably. Race it with a lot of competitors around said to be very agressive in the european scene? Certainly!

I suspect this will bring back the replica thingy around. But if you're not millionaire or billionaire investing 900 k£ in a genuine Cobra you can try to challenge it with a 160 k£ TVR for instance. What would be the most famous meetings if we banned the replica or even genuine cars with modern engines? Please dont shoot me for that its only my point of view.

I'm making my annual pilgrimage on Friday but to be honest it's more of a socialising/networking event rather than anything else (don't tell the boss!). It is interesting to see what's new & what's going on, but I find it more interesting to learn what everyone has been up to over the last 12 months, and more importantly what their plans are for this season. (It's always entertaining when you talk to some people, and add everything up to find that they claim to be racing over 60 weekends this year!).
