Tim Cross' Caterham is for sale. This would be a competitive option which is quick and road going, and below your £20K budget.

Mind you anyone checking out Dude's Pug should also be looking for grass-cuttings 'welded' to the underside after his last Loton excursion! |

OK guys you've had your laughs - but how about a decent suggestion for a starter car - with basic mechanics i.e. no computers - that can be worked on with a Haynes Manual and a tuning book?

Optional
Lynx, a lot depends on what you want to do with the car between events. If it is to be your daily transport then I would rule out the Locaterfield option. Therefore I have two short lists for you to consider.
7 Day Transport Option: 1) 1.4 Peugeot 205 Rallye; 2) 1.4 Peugeot 206 Rallye; 3) 1.9 Peugeot 205 GTi Week-end Chariot: 1) 1.6 Caterham with K Series engine; 2) 1.6 Westfield again with K Series; 3) 1.6 Sylva Striker with RAW Toyota engine All of these should be available for less than half of your budget as your specified you wanted to drive them to events so the out & out Locaterfield racers which are more expensive would not be suitable and some are not even Road Legal. We cannot make the decision for you, but I would suggest that you consider the above when compiling your short-list. Best of luck. |

Thanks for the suggestions - I am pretty sure it will be a Caterham, possibly self-build to ensure I am able to work on it when necessary at the event. Am busy working through the specs on the Caterham page, plus prices of course! |

Will Halls red westfield is for sale at a very reasonable price, its a competitive car with all the expensive bits , nitrons, 240bhp vx engine etc all ready fitted. Its worth a look if thats the class you are looking at. Dave |
