Autosport.nl has a story about the DTM-presentation in Duesseldorf at the 5th of April. This year will be the last year the popular event (200.000 visitors last year) will be held. Apparantly the new mayor doens't like racecars, and the local cardrivers where not amused to see the roads blocked in the city-center.
A shame for the many visitors, but i'm sure another city would like to host such a big event next year.

@Speed-King
i heard (~ 1-2 month ago) that all new regulation ideas are canceld. They will only change the rules if there is one or more manufactures who wil enter the series. Then they will finalize the new rules with all competitor together!?

Russian f3 driver Sergei Afanasyev is to test TME Audi R12plus this Friday. It's a bonus for the euro f3 team he races for.
It's still unknown whether Kolles leaves DTM because Audi don't want to use three generations of their A4 in 2009.

Yeah, I assume they will do what Merc did already last year, cut back to only 2 generations (but with 1 car less in total). Feels a bit more fair, even if still not optimal.

I've managed to get some 1976 DRM races review. That was Racing. Is it possible to have some kind of Racing today? Or racing must be show in any case now?
Besides,are Zakspeed and Manthey Racing still alive? The only real DTM should be with tuning and racing teams.Not factory.

Zak and Manthey are both involved in the VLN-series and the 24hrs at the Ring. Manthey won the 24 the last three years and Zakspeed have a few victories from earlier in this decade.

They also won Superleague with Davide Rigon this year. I didn't know if Aslak referred to any recent development as Zakspeed seems to have run into problems a few times during its existance only to rise from the flames. Seeing the Viper at the N24 this year (and last) was brilliant, pity it didn't do better.

Christian Bakkerud has been testing for Audi on Circuito de AlmerÃ*a, Spain, thursday and friday. He is reported to have been half a sec faster then the second fastest.

Overall, 8 drivers has been testing the Futurecom TME Audi over 5 days.

www.sportmotores.es is saying that Óscar Fernández, a former International GT Open driver, will drive for Futurecom-TME in DTM 2009 if he gets the budget.

Albers may be promoted to a newer year car, and/ or do some LMS series for them

So,if there's a newcomer,then someone has to quit. Who? Works Audi has a very balanced drivers staff - there's nobody to leave.

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I'd say there is 1 or two drivers to kick out from Audi squad, OK 1 of them should be 'promoted' to at least a year old car, Tomczyk.

But they are also dropping 1 car... so kicking 1 driver doesnt open up 1 more driver spot.
