I'd been told that a BTCC driver with a strong connection to a German car was coming to TCR UK. I was thinking 'Hope it's Rob Austin'.
Honestly (no offence), I can't remember Rick Kerry, and I thought Plato raced the first diesel.

TCR UK reveals new £75,000 prize fund

Interesting initiative.

From TouringCarTimes,

"At each race meeting, the driver scoring pole position will take £1,000 with the top three in race one being awarded £1,500, £1,000 and £500 respectively. Prizes to the top three in the reverse grid race will be handed out on a £750, £500 and £250 basis, with the same prizes being used for the final race of the Knockhill triple-header.

When the season comes to an end, the overall champion will take home £15,000, with the runner-up securing £10,000 and third place taking £5,000. The Diamond Trophy and Tom Walker Memorial winners will both earn £2,500.

Carless Racing Fuels will also support an additional award for the ‘TCR Driver of the Day’, who will win a 54 litre keg of control race fuel."

Yea that BMW 120d did about 10 laps of Brands Hatch back in 2007 then never saw it again…

The car did the majority of the 2007 season with Rick Kerry behind the wheel and then reappeared in 2009 for a few rounds with Nick Leason.

Talking about BMW, it's a shame there isn't a TCR version of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Interesting point - as when the TCR regs came out the small BMWs were still RWD, now the 1 and 2 GC are both FWD it does open up the possibility. But then again, we haven't seen anyone take the Mercedes A Class (or CLA).

Jac Constable now with Rob Boston Racing - I wonder if him and Newsham leaving PMR means that we won't see PMR on the grid at all for 2023?
