Sacramento, CA Street Circuit

I was randomly looking at locations with Google Earth and found what could be a perfect track. It is located near the former grounds of the California State Fair and is now the home of the University of California Davis Medical Center. The track runs counterclockwise and has about 15 turns. I left the coordinates on the image if you guys want to design your own track in the area. You can use the coordinates in Google Earth or at http://maps.google.com (no need to put in degree symbol).

I have a couple of images, the first, a satellite photo:

Next, the track drawn on a map:

What do you think?

Nice track! I've made an edit using the CDMC parking lot for a few esses-like corners plus a bit more of the road on the right of the picture.

Mandretti and Nicky,

Neither of you have taken into consideration, that a street must have a certain width to contain a GP-circuit. I do not think the roads you use to the left on your track are near wide enough.

They're wide enough I reckon. The fact they're residential would be more of a worry

Compared to the circuit at Vila Real, Portugal, I don't think width will be a problem (one-lane in town section and a narrow bridge along the Vila Real course).

As a native Sacramentonian, perhaps I can give you all some realistic places one might look to biuld a track?

How about making Sacramento Raceway Park into a road course facility?
Or perhaps an airport track from two shut down air force bases?
Mather Field
Or Mc'Clellan Air Force Base
Arco Arena Parking Lot
Sacramento International Airport
Raley Field

These are some of the areas where it would be easier to convert in to some sort of temporary or permanent race venue...

POST EDITED, FOR SOME REASON TERRASERVER DID NOT SHOW FULL IMAGES I TRIED TO LINK TO

Those are pretty challenging locations, bcobbus. I'll have a go later on today.

Here's a track at the now-defunct (?) Mathers Field.
