More problems @ Peugeot - Panizzi out for Finland
www.rally-live.com are reporting that Peugeot's Gilles Panizzi has fractured his shoulder during an accidental fall, and will be unable to compete in Finland.
It'll be important for the team that Gilles has recovered for the Deutschland Rally, beginning on 23rd August; one of the two remaining tarmac rounds |

He'll surely take longer than up to the 23rd to recover? If he hasn't then that's the others guarenteed a chance of victory.

Gilles underwent surgery on Friday, but as yet it is unclear just how long he will be out of action.
The team said in a statement: "Gilles Panizzi underwent surgery at Monaco Hospital last Friday and will not be able to take part in this wekend's Rally of Finland. He can be relied upon to undertake a thorough re-education programme with a view to regaining full mobility of his injured shoulder to get back behind the wheel of his 206 WRC as quickly as possible." Yeh, its only 2 and a bit weeks away. And he'll probably need to be given the all clear a few days before that.

Unfortunately, he won't be racing for awhile and will miss the Rally of Germany and Italy in which is an asphalt events that Panizzi thrived.

Peugeot Sport management is confident that Gilles Panizzi will be fully fit for Sanremo.
“It is always difficult to say, but the people who did the operation and the physiotherapist told us it was 100 per cent sure he will be in Sanremo - unless there is bad news in the next two weeks. If he comes, he will be fit,” Team Manager Francois Chatriot disclosed. |
