The Adelaide and Melbourne races get high entrylists because of tv coverage because in Australia they are like 'big events' (Adelaide Clipsal 500 a big V8 Supercars street race and Melbourne for the F1).. The rest of the championship doesnt have the big number of cars entered. Doesnt help the racing though unlike our German friends who know how to put a show and I thank them (and Dauer 962 for posting up those links on youtube).

Tim Bergmeister's co-driver for the races this weekend at the Sachsenring will be no one other than his brother Jörg.

Hahahaha, perfect way to make sure you win a race if you've got a Porsche. Snap yourself a factory driver as a team-mate and you're there.

24 hour live video at Radio lemans.com

In case you want to see it Radio lemans is streaming the live ADAC feed for the 24 hour race. Go to Radio Lemans.com click the "listen live"botton then minimize the player and the page now showing has a live video link right under the live timing link to the upper left. turn the volume down on the video player unless you speak german. The radio lemans commentators are speaking about 10 seconds ahead of the video but are obviously watching the same feed

Hockenheim Entry-List

Looks quite healthy... 7 Cup-Porsches in the SRO-Trophy class, which is the ADAC's equivalent of the FIA citation-cup.

Not bad. Wish Hockenhiem wasn't ruined by Tilke. We'll see how the GT3 cars fair, they usually always have exciting races, but Hockenhiemring was made way worse when they redid it.

Timing and Scoring: Qualifying should be underway any minute now. Only driver names, though. So it helps to have the entry list open in another tab.

Results Q1:
Asch (Porsche)
Giermaziak (Audi)
v. Thurn & Taxis (Lambo)
Matzke (Alpina)
Tim Bergmeister (Porsche)

These five within one second.

Oh, and there's rain predicted for the Sunday race. Lots of it. Good thing Hockenheim has (partially) roofed grandstands

Edit:
Q2:
Hohenadel (Vette)
Kox (Lambo)
Jäger (Vette)
Kentenich (Porsche)
J. Bergmeister (Porsche)

Stunning race 1 I must say.
Peter Kox again showed a superb drive and Jörg Bergmeister had to put out all his defending skills for the win. Truly a great battle between him, Kox and Rehfeld. A couple drive through penalties mainly for not remaining 70 sec in pits and in one instance crossing white line with all 4 tires three times caused a pretty terrifying mix for the 2nd part of the race. Also I am glad to see that racing off track got penalized for once at Hockenheim.

Top 5 race 1:
1. Bergmeister/Bergmeister Porsche 997 GT3 R
2. Kox/von Thurn und Taxis Lambo Gallardo LP560
3. Rehfeld/Knop Ascari KZ1-R GT3
4. Kentenich/Asch Porsche 997 GT3 R
5. Jaeger/Hannawald Corvette Z06.R GT3

.The pretty exciting, but not as terrifying as race 1, race 2 at Hockenheim was won by v. Thurn und Taxis/Kox ahead of Jaeger/Hannawald. Once v. Thurn und Taxis caught up with the leading Hannawald it was game over for the Porsche pilot.

Season finale this weekend.

Race 1 Results here

Audi splitted Ludwig and Mies to increase their chances in the championship.
Race 1 was pretty exciting, if not so much for the ontrack action but more for the implications every wrong move could have in the championship battle.
The race results are, however, only preliminary as of now, since there is a protest, presumably against the Audi of Luca Ludwig, that is suppossed to have jumped the start.

And it was already announced at the Nürburgring round that the broadcast package with Kabel 1 has been renewed for next year.

Peter Kox and Albert Fürst von Thurn und Taxis are the 2010 champions.

Next year they share a Lambo in FIA GT1?

Are either of the races worth watching for on-track action, FIRE?

Congrats to Kox and the prince, the latter has come on leaps and bounds as a racing driver this year!
