Hinchcliffe owns a home in the Indianapolis suburb of Zionsville and will allow the surgical wound to heal there. An operation of the type performed on him normally takes a recovery period of six to eight weeks after which he would resume physical training for an eventual return to the cockpit.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team co-owner Sam Schmidt has been quoted as saying he expects Hinchcliffe to be back in a race for the team in August. The 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season ends on Labour Day weekend.

Matt : Well $20 per beer may have been an overstatement . Lets just say Including Tax $19.99 per pop

Certainly hope they don't charge for Bumps and Potholes .

The state spent over $4 million on repaving Belle Isle, and the kink in the backstretch is gone.

The Boston mayor appears to be backing the event, so why wouldn't he arrange for the repaving and the removal of the disused railroad tracks?

There are a lot of major corporations in the Boston area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater...ajor_companies

Whether they sponsor the race directly is another matter, but the city itself has a thriving economy. Also the GP organiser states the funding is from private sources.

An interesting article, with Chevrolet saying there's no quick fix to the aero-kit problems that occurred at this year's Indy 500.

Maybe F1 2003? Montoya did have a strong run that season. His results don't reflect how well he drove - his car broke on him at the A1-Ring and Suzuka while leading.

No he didn't lead the title that year. Certainly what also hurt him was the late season rule change that favoured Bridgestone.

Watched both Detroit races, exciting and taught F1 a thing or two

The aero-kit saga continues, as Chevrolet say there's no proof of cars crashing and becoming airborne is linked to their aero-kit.

Marshall Pruett posted this article talking about Honda struggles. Teams want mid-season changes to be made to the aero kits to make them more competitive.

Why did Honda have to make changes? I know they agreed to the changes but there was nothing to say that the Honda kits had a problem.

They were told they'd have to qualify what they raced (in the 500), actually.

That's an excellent article, though somewhat pessimistic but what I think has been forgotten, is there is a competition between Chevy and Honda and Chevy are winning it and that needs to be accepted. However, I think it was very short sighted of IndyCar and Derrick Walker, as head of racing operations, to allow only a limited amount of testing prior to homologation.

Between the end of last season and the beginning of this, was the longest off season in the history of AOWR, why couldn't this time have been used more effectively, to design and thoroughly test the aero-kits?

It seems to me the IRL didn't get started soon enough and did a rush job with the aero-kits. Don't forget they weren't going to be used at the original season opener at Brasilia.

Both Chevy and Honda were required to qualify in race trim.

My view on this topic is if Indycar (or any other body) wants manufacturer involvement, then they also have to allow those manufacturers to make upgrades throughout the season. At least give manufacturers one or two accepted updates per year. If they completely freeze the aero kits at the beginning of the season then they get into the mess they are in now. You also bring up a good point regarding testing. As for money...that ship sailed a while ago with the announcement of the aero kits.

But now, Indycar are in trouble. If they don't do anything, the Honda teams will get angry. If they allow Honda to upgrade their kits, Chevy will get angry.
