Queensland Raceway by Quinny
Couldn't find another thread on QR alone - but I think that the changes Tony Quinn is bringing about are significant and will make a huge difference to the experience of using QR for competitors and spectators.

Information is starting to come out, including artist renders of the planned work - it's looking good!

Track re-surfacing too. So much that hadn't been done now being caught up on in double-quick time.

He's not sitting around and talking about stuff, that's for sure....

Will say, every business he has bought in recent times he does drop a lot of capital sooner after to update, improve or clean it up to how he likes it.

Good on him for keeping at John and getting the deal done....

Our local speedway needs Mr Quinn to come in and do a few renovations on the amenities block!

Then again the toilet block might be heritage listed it is that *******g old or a cultural listing under disgusting.

Dad used to have a "Jock's Country" cartoon hanging in our old woolshed that said "I was thinking about doing some renovations, but the Historic Places Trust won't let me touch the place".

The same often applies at club-owned motorsport facilities

Funny that, Historic and Heritage Trust protection, along with Cultural Significance seem to get wheel out at times to stop some developments happening. Sometimes I agree, other times it looks to be out desperation to stop whatever might be planned.

A mate found out once he has a Flood Overlay on his property. He was looking to landscape parts of the property and got in contact with the authority that owned the Overlay to ask some questions. They turned around and said that what he was planning would require them to view his plans as he might change the levels of the land too much and cause flooding issues to spread to other properties. He firmly told them to jam it, along with the cost, and proceeded to make the changes...

There is a certain old high rise on the Gold Coast that someone got the bright idea of heritage listing, against the wishes of the majority of unit owners.

Result is that any maintenance now costs many times more than it should because of the need to keep it looking original.
