GT5 - Damage

http://www.ps3portal.com/?view=article&article=56&cat=2

According to that article, the new Gran Turismo will have real time damage

Should make it a bit better than belting a wall and just ploughing on in a race

Looks like I'll definitely have to buy a PS3 then! Sounds promising.

I know what you mean Es Nes - presumably they'll be improving the AI as well, particularly if there are going to be more cars on track.

Well hopefully with the power of the PS3, the AI will be able to avoid you and try some overtaking...

That stories from November 2004!!!!

I'd expect GT5 to be very different from previous installments, more like a full on sim.

It is afterall going to be competing against PC sims that will be coming out on PS3.

Nintendo has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Until now, the only reason I was gonna buy a ps3 was mgs4, but now....

Yeah, I thought damage was gonna be on gt3, for heaven sake. Let's hope polyphony don;t muck about with Concept games and prologues.

By the time GT5 is released real time damage in racing games will be the norm.

GT5 damage will be the real deal, not your average crumpled bonnet and what not.

I don't actually want them to go too much further down the sim route. For me, the major areas of improvement should be elsewhere, such as increasing the number of cars on track, more sensible championships (not so long, and more high performance race/road ones), and a higher proportion of European and American classics over the obscure Japanese 'classics'.

I think I'd rather have more tracks and more cars on track first, before damage. But realistic damage would be great.

I expect everything in GT5.

We've had 4 virtually identical games, held back by the technology.

Now there are no excuses.

The PS2 can;t go any further really, so that was fairly predictable.

GT5 can;t just be good. it has to be better than anything else we've seen before, and with real time crashing and the rumoured approval by Ferrari, lambo and koenigsegg, as well as Bugatti (confirmed), it will be great.
