Sadly I fear I have the wrong vehicle and am of the wrong crowd ATM.

My last trip to the circuit was, I think, 20 years after the photo was taken when I was sprinting an MG Montego Turbo. See what I mean about always having the wrong car

Speaking of "the right crowd" (to get this thread back on track), do you foresee special "Day" or "Weekend" GRRC memberships to increase race day attendance?

A LOT of detail! Thanks Bob, that site never fails to impress.

So no spectators, except guests of members, and although there is a waiting list for membership new applications are welcome.

End of March, you say. Anyone got a spare Gp1 pinto engine lying about?

It could well be John, but its most likely a Bognor Regis MC sprint . . . . there were a few special cases of Reliant ownership in the area in the 80's, my Dad and his mate being just 2 of them with SE5's I have a great shot of the sabre with its wheels tucked in coming out of the chicane

Great idea. I used to read the race reports in Autosport in the 60s - does that count?

Aye! And we'd even got that 'lectricity stuff by then!

Autosport was the much awaited read on the train to Leeds each Friday morning. Got a shock one Friday in the late 60s when I turned a page and there was a picture of my Anglia coming out of the chicane at Croft just behind Tony Sugden's Escort and just in front of a Mini. Quite made my day ......... week, even.

Just a note folks. We do have an autocensor system so if you type ******** (which is the norm for these threads) it'll automatically change it to *'s however sometimes it knows bugger all about the words so they get through. But, the point being we do have to watch for the dodges and so far, as I'm not a mod in this forum I leave it to John to do the necessary. We have the censor because we are aware that younger folk, who I agree, may know more words than I, might be looking in. As responsible people the owners try to keep things pleasant and polite.

Anyway, back on topic. I saw some of the panels from my Rover this week. We've found the old dark blue stripe along the door tops from the 1981 Daily Express livery. Also found the Sanyo Blue from 1982 and of course the Triplex Blue from 1980.

Point well made Peter, I shall take note and observe the niceties, although I thought we were all consenting adults on this forum.

Yup, that was my thought too. However I suspect we'll be struggling to get it to the homologated weight, as is often the case.

Talking to a Dolly Sprint owner who has been in discussion with organisers, I gather that there will be two races, first for car owner and second for celebrities driving the owners cars. Anyone confirm that is correct?

I'm sure that I've read that there will be a race on the Saturday for owners, which will set the grid for Sunday's race, which will be for owners sharing with celebs.

I understand this is now being called the Gerry Marshall Trophy. Here is an update from Goodwood:

http://www.goodwood.co.uk/members-me...ll-trophy.aspx

Un-silenced too. Yay!

From what I hear the Group 1 cars will be running Dunlop Formula R's as opposed to slicks, Toyos, Yokos or anything else. Do these work well in snow?
