Just thought I'd let you guys know that I've been getting the
"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." message a lot tonight. Comes and goes every few minutes. |

The server is getting very excited! Probably a small point, but I don't think there were that many on line during the problem.
BTW it seems fine now!

I think it was a spider program. Something was accessing quite a few of the member profiles (probably in an attempt to lift email addresses, to be used in spam lists), and the member profiles use a complicated search to find the last posts for that particular user. It looks like the repeated searching slowed the server down considerably.

Did it work? I did get 6 spam emails this morning - I was so pleased that people wanted to send me an email and it turned out to be fricking spam. I ought to sue someone for emotional distress.
