What do you think of Cart's new logo?

Thoughts?

I think it has a nice form, not a big fan of the colours (just me), and it looks a little too cluttered (I guess that was a given though).

I agree with the cluttered bit. But the actual Champ Car logo in the middle (excluding the sponsor stickers) looks pretty slick. I prefer the old one, but I am sure this one will grow on me.

Anyway, if you thin of the logos of other leagues in pro sports (and other series...err..Nascar, IRL,etc), it's pretty good actually!

I wanta see Chris Pook in a bikini!

I don't think it's simple enough, like F1, IRL and NASCAR logos are (whats wrong with the IRl and NASCAR logos?) I think it will take a while for it to be widely recognised, just because it is so, how do i say it, fiddly, while the old CART logo was relatively simple.

My Verdict: Still thinking.....don't like it, but then again, i don't usually like anything new.

So when is the above logo used, and when is the (better and less cluttered!) one below used?

The one at the top is the ChampCar series logo, the one at the bottom is the new CART corporate logo. The series logo is actually two in one. The center is the new Champ Car logo and the entirety is the 2003 Season logo. Bridgestone is only signed up as presenter for one year.

I like the logo, but that header on the front page isn't a good beginning.

I would like to see it with some brighter colours instead of that ugly orange. Maybe a bit of a checked flag in there to tie in with the old logo

Sorry but I'm disappointed. It's only OK. The problem I have is there is nothing about it that's racy. No car, no checkered flag, not even some striping or slant or color or anything thing that indicates speed. They could (should) have done better.

Welcome Flyfishr. Your name indicates we have a second similar passion.

There's a poll on cart.com with a comments section. Go over and tell them what you think!

It's okay. I liked the old corporate logo. At least it isn't blue-white-red, like the American leagues' logos..

I think they did the best they could. It was going to be a logo filled of words, anyway!

Gives the opertunity of changing sponsors without losing the centre, which might be good for the future, but like Jay, I think it is cluttered.
Glad to see the coluor change tho', looks less like a Stars & Stripes

They should have modified the old flag logo with the CWS wording.

What's the deal with the " > " arrow-thingy? This is where there should be something to indicate speed. Like the outline of a car or a checkered flag. I just don't understand what that arrow is supposed to signify. Other than that, I like the design, but feel that it should be brighter and more colourful.

The contemporary design of the logo also features a new arrow-style icon that melds the directional arrows on computer keyboards and traffic signs, pointing toward the series' passion for technology as well as the urban environments where it competes. The orange color incorporated in the logo reflects the energy created by the cars, venues, fans, teams and drivers of the series.

Hi Flatspot
yeah I flip between fly fishing and racing. I will chase anything with fins and will take a fly or has four wheels and is infront of me (go-karts). I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting about flyfishing with one other flyfisher/CART driver in the late Greg Moore. I tyed up a few of my favorite dry flies and gave them to him to try out in his off time. Sadly I never did hear how they worked out for him.

I really like it and being a freelance designer and concept artist, the colurs and styles is quite contemporary. I would have been dissappointed if the'yd rolled out the same red, white, blue and chequered flag pastische.

The only thing I'd change is the > thing by the checkered flag, maintaining the orange background.

I think it's good. The "Champ Car World Series" font is great.

The more I look at the series logo the more I like it.

The CART one's alright, it just seems a bit plain to me, and the ^ thing reminded me of:

Fabulous, Cart decides to actual not go the Red, White and Blue route that would have been so easy, the safe option. Very modern and not some rehash of a NFL/MLB logo. I'm happy with it.
